Long story short: Arrow season 3 sucks so I'm going to make my own version, hopefully I do well enough. I'm going to spare you a page long rant, but basically Sara's death pissed me off and started the season's flaws, while Felicity being OOC was the last straw, (well Nada Parbat being very anti-climatic could be too). The flash backs aren't going to be here since they'll be the same, I may add new flash backs for other characters though.
Leaves rustled as The Arrow ran through the bushes, "I'm at 52nd street," he continued onto the train tracks following the truck, "got him he's heading east."
"Ok, copy, or roger? Anyways John, illegal RPG's coming you way" Felicity's voice range through the com.
"Roger!" Diggle announced and continued to drive. 'So it is roger, I never know the difference.' Felicity mused back at the Arrow Cave.
Oliver grunted as he landed on the moving truck, shooting an explosive arrow at the hitch, the car part continued forward without its cargo. "RPG's are secure," Diggle reported.
Still on top of the truck, "We're heading towards you Roy," Oliver announced, knocking the guy in shotgun out, then forgetting road safety rules by fighting with the driver for the wheel, making the car shakily turn right.
Out of the shadows Arsenal appeared shooting two arrows, one for each front tire, the truck stopping right before him. Gunfire filled the air as the driver ran with the green hood following, the arrow had been launched creating a net. Running into the net, "You have failed this city!"
"The Arrow just put away another criminal, there's no denying the criminal rate has plummeted!" the news reporter stated. "Um…your welcome!" Felicity said spinning her chair around to face the three that entered. "But the city is still dying two terrorist attacks and…" the screen went black.
A green bow collapsed, "take another off the board," Oliver said as if it was a routine. "There's two criminals, the ones we put away and the ones running scared," Diggle confirmed it had become a routine.
Noticing a plant, "What's this?" Oliver asked apparently he didn't know what a plant was. "A fern, it brightens the place up, it thrives on light, and matches your color scheme." Felicity answered.
"Can I get a bed?" Oliver joked. "No, you sleep on the floor." Felicity returned the joking tone. Their eyes locked, while in the background Roy and Diggle glanced at each other communicating to each other 'I ship them so hard!' and 'my OTP!'
The moment ended with a vibrating phone, "Thea texted again," Felicity said. 'One day,' Roy and Diggle thought. "Where's she now?" Diggle asked. "Molte Coast."
Roy started to leave, "I'm going to clear my head and patrol," Oliver stopped him from leaving, "You did really well tonight" earning a slight nod and faint smile.
"I'm turning in too, early shift tomorrow; that might be the most depressing thing I've said." Facility said. "We're still on for tomorrow right?" Oliver asked. Diggle perked up, 'a date?' "Yes, I'm going to make sure those bored members beg you to take back your company," she said with a smile.
'It's a date in my head and several others…' Diggle thought. "I'm going to, I've got to build man's worst creation: a crib." Heading out Oliver stopped him holding out a small black box, "I'm broke so I made this, arrow heads the only thing a former billionaire playboy can make."
Picking the necklace up, "Thanks man, by the way former billionaire or playboy?" Diggle joked. "Both, I hope." Oliver replied. "Good maybe that means you'll start dating Felicity."
If he had drunk something Oliver would have done a spit take, "I don't know, my last girlfriend's in the League of Assassins, girlfriend before that was shot by girlfriend before that, not the best track record."
'Damn it Oliver!' trying to keep calm, "Maybe she'll change your mind, ask her soon this is the best things are going to get" sadly he didn't know he had just jinxed everyone.
"You told her you loved her." Diggle answered, determined not to let his ship die. "I was fooling Slade." Oliver said. "Now you're only fooling yourself," Diggle said the words everyone wanted to say, "thanks again." The cave was empty except for Oliver.
"His lawyer caved once I presented him with the evidence the Arrow gathered, you catch them I cook them, did I say that too loud?" Laurel asked; Felicity started to rub off on her. "No." Oliver replied with amused smirk.
"Who knew we'd be business partners?" Laurel asked. "That why you called me down here?" Oliver asked, not that he was unhappy he came. "No, I have a surprise for you."
Laurel walked up to her dad, "Hi dad." Lance turned to her, "Hey, if I knew press conferences were apart of the promotion I would have turned it down, getting shot at is more fun."
The mike screeched a little, 'Thank you all for coming. Five months ago the city was under siege and the SCPD rallied with the Arrow. He got no thank you and I ended up in the captain rank; so today the SCPD is formally recognizing the Arrow and disbanding the vigilantly task force."
Oliver looked over to Laurel, "Thank you."
"Don't forget vigilantes will never be tolerated, but I won't let the hero who saved us be hunted…" the TV continued "shut that crap off what are we even bribing the cops for?" one man muttered. The TV went silent.
"We have bigger issues, lack of leadership, I nominate myself, any objections?" Vertigo asked. One of the three spoke up "One, you talk funny, two…" a dart hit his throat and a swift killing blow was delivered.
"Any objections?" it was not a question so no one objected. "Good we're going to kill the Arrow."
Laurel returned home she made her way to the kitchen and grabbed a mug, but she dropped it when she turned around, "Hey, sis." In normal attire Sara causally said. "Don't do that! You and Ollie we need to put bells on you two! Wait, when did you get back?"
"I've been here for an hour, glad to know I don't have to worry about the police hunting me," the younger Lance said with a smile. "Well you owe me a mug, also is this a permanent thing? You staying in Starling I mean." A hopefully tone was in her voice.
"We'll see…" Sara said, not telling her the real reason she was here. She probably would have used one her old apartment she set up because of the league and avoided her sister completely but she had a gut feeling she should be around Laurel. Her dad always said a cop is only as good as his gut; well Sara Lance was the daughter of a cop so she listened to it.
"I'll get a mug later but will coffee due for now?" Sara pointed to the table revealing to cups with coffee in them. "For now, at least you remembered the coasters." Laurel teased. "Last time it was 7 AM and you know how out of it I am in the morning, you're lucky I didn't pour the coffee into a plant."
Laurel looked at her sister skeptically, "It's not poisoned I swear." Sara said raising her hands up like a criminal does with police. "I don't know three sugars is over kill…" Sara made a slight frown, "But black coffee is so bitter!" Despite the screaming the two smiled, they didn't get many moments to be normal sisters and have normal arguments over trivial manors like coffee.
Laurel's phone buzzed a couple times, "Diggle says Oliver asked Felicity out, I owe him 10 bucks, Roy says they are going to spy on them while the two are on a date…long live Olcity! I quote."
"10 bucks?" Sara asked. "I said Felicity would ask first, he said Oliver would, clearly I'm at a disadvantage since I don't work with them every night hunting criminals."
Sara blinked she missed an opportunity to be as rich as well Oliver Queen, was as he was. The phone buzzed again, "He's now asking for a bet one who will pay for the bill, Felicity or Oliver? $15 says Oliver will."
An amused smirk appeared on Sara's face, "Tell him Felicity will pay and bet an extra $10 that they'll fight over who'll pay, and an extra 25 bucks if Felicity uses logical reasoning and her rambling to make him cave."
"It's settled. If this doesn't work you're paying for it." Laurel muttered it would be 50 dollars. "Don't worry I know my people."
Diggle and Roy sat at the top of a building staring at it through binoculars. "Laurel bet me a total of 50 dollars." Roy still watching for Olcity replied, "Sweet."
Within the restaurant Felicity and Oliver sat down, "I take some scotch please." The waiter looked at Felicity, "just water please." Oliver asked, "You sure, it might help with the award…" Felicity smiled, "No, it will not it will just make it worse."
Back at the rooftop, "Five bucks please," Roy, stated his eyes still glued to the scene in front of him. Diggle also kept his eyes one the two handing the bill to Roy.
Roy however did take his eyes off them when he heard a slight creek on the rooftop, "I think this roof is crowded…" Roy muttered. The Count and his two flunkies were behind them with a bazooka.
Diggle pulled up a gun, "A gun vs. a bazooka, I don't think that's fair," another gun was pulled up by Diggle and Roy threw a small knife as the Count's hand making him drop the bazooka.
"I agree, a gun vs. a bazooka isn't fair for you, how about two guns and my knife throwing friend here vs. you and your two unarmed cronies?" Diggle asked.
Laurel heard footsteps behind her and turned off the TV; The Canary headed to the window. "Good luck with what ever you're doing. I've got a question have you ever thought of adding a color to you name? I mean Canary is great and all but it'd be cooler to say something like…oh the Black Canary? You were black leather after all and Yellow doesn't roll off the tongue as well."
Sara paused, "Weren't you the one who gave the fine people of Starling my vigilantly name?"
"If I knew it catch on I would have thought it out a bit more." Laurel slightly whined, making one wonder who was really older. The vigilante smiled, "I'll stick with Canary thank you, it's shorter, and it rolls of the tongue better than Black Canary."
The phone buzzed again, "Diggle owes me $50, I need to take you to Vegas on day." Laurel mused. "I told you I know my people."
There was a knock at the door, Sara raced out the fire escape while Laurel answered the door, but before she could even see the visitor she received a dart to the neck. She pulled it out but the figure had changed to Tommy Merlyn. "Dinah Laurel Lance…"
The Canary rushed back in to see her sister curled up in a ball and Oliver's sister at the door. "Hello Sara…" Thea murmured she was dazed, but she had a knife to Laurel's throat. The phone rang, "Answer," the younger Queen murmured.
Not taking her eyes off Thea, Sara picked up the phone, "Hello Sara, I know we haven't talked in a while but we don't have time to catch up this will be quick, who's life do you value more, yours or Laurel's?" Malcolm Merlin was on the other side of the line.
Her grip on the phone tightened as the rest of her tensed, "Laurel's." she answered no question. "Oh goodie…" the knife that was at Laurel's throat was launched at Sara who just caught it she was about to throw it back at Thea, "By the way don't kill Thea I don't know if you've noticed but she's not really herself at the moment."
"Here's the deal you…" Sara reached into her pocket and dropped a small device, which let out the Canary Cry, the phone was hung up and chucked at Thea who was so out of it didn't realize to move out of the way. Thea fell to the ground, unconscious.
Laurel was still on the ground but now she was crying. "Laurel," Sara shook her, she just kept sitting there muttering I'm sorry. She tied Thea up for now. Her knees felt weak and collapsed. Her world was getting blurry until it ended.
Two hours later Team Arrow had returned to the Foundry. Laurel was in the cave crying. Oliver saw Sara was on the table her eyes closed, but she wasn't there. "What happened?" He screamed.
Laurel tried to speak in a coherent sentence, "I don't k-know, I was *sniff* hit with Vertigo and *sniff* when it wore off Sara was d-dead. I-I think I k-killed her."
I'm still killing Sara off, but don't worry she'll be back in a few chapters. I'm neutral here: I like Laurel's development because of Sara's death; I really hate her death for a lot of reasons. Updating schedule I'll try at least one every two weeks, but school's unpredictable so we'll see how much I stick with this. If anyone has suggestions for this please, just tell me in a review and I'll see if I can incorporate it. Last thing I promise: what should Diggle & Lyla's kid be named? I'm bringing Sara back so it would be a bit confusing to have two characters named Sara running around.
Thank you for reading and please review.
