Hey guys! This is just a new story idea that I came up with that I thought would be fun. I don't know what you guys will think of it, so PLEASE review so I know whether to keep going with the story or not. Enjoy!

I don't own Vampire Diaries or The Originals, because if I did Klaus and Caroline would be together!

Chapter 1

Lights filled the stage, and music filled the auditorium.

"Welcome Back!" The announcer's voice boomed over the music and noise. "On StarStruck, the search for talent continues in Virginia, on this National variety show. But first, welcome back our judges!"

The crowd erupted into applause as the 4 judges walked out, their names announced as each one stepped out of the wings.

"Award winning actress and dancer, Cami O'Connell!" Catcalls and screams filled the air as the gorgeous blonde walked out, a smile on her face as she waved to the crowd.

"An icon in music, and owner of 7 platinum albums, Marcel Gerard!" The girls went wild, as the tall, dark skinned man walked across the stage in an easy swagger, with a dazzling smile on his face.

"And finally, he was named #2 as America's most influential people only under the president, leading entertainment entrepreneur, and, the owner of internationally acclaimed record label Hybrid Records-give it up for Niklaus Mikaelson!" The crowd erupted into furious cheers and applause, but equally furious boos. Niklaus paid no attention to both the cheering and booing, and walked confidently and seated himself at the judge's table. Marcel leaned towards Klaus.

"Do you ever get discouraged from the boos?"

Klaus smirked, and proceeded to drink from his water bottle before responding.

"Never, it's like music to my ears."

Marcel let out a loud laugh before patting Klaus' back.

"Then I hope for your sake that the audition session goes well-can't have you breaking any more dreams can we?"

"I'm here to look for talent, not tolerate delusional fools. But, "Klaus lifted up his bottle in a mock toast. "To a tolerable audition session"

The audience fell to silence as the lights dimmed and the first contestant walked on.

~X~X~X~X~

Two hours later, Klaus concluded that audition session was a disaster. Even Cami, the most optimistic out trio had to admit to the incredible lack of talent Virginia had to offer. With the current act in front of them, Klaus had to resist the urge to bang his head against a wall. Cami was almost in tears and Marcel's head was burrowed deep into the crook of his elbow.

Thriller-thriller yeah! The man proceeded by doing an improvised tap dance before entering a series of sharp movements that resembled a large chicken being electrified.

After 2 minutes, Klaus decided to end everyone's misery.

"Alright, alright, that's enough."

The man in front of him stopped singing.

"I'm sorry, but if you honestly think that anyone would pay to see your pitiful imitations of Michael Jackson, you are sadly mistaken. You look like you had no training-"

"I have been training with a coach for 10 years!" The flustered man interrupted

"-No training", Klaus continued. "And no stage presence. Quite frankly, you make me want to rip my liver out. So its a definite no for me."

"I think," Cami quickly said before the contestant could say anything else. "though, Klaus could have used a different choice of words," The audience laughed as Klaus merely shook his head. "I think that the act isn't up to par with the standards of this competition, and the act was just...not good."

"Come on Cami…" the contestant tried.

"It's a no for me." Cami said firmly.

"Yeah, sorry man. It's a no for me." Marcel said.

Another hour later, the auditions still hadn't improved in quality.

Klaus Mikaelson let out a loud sigh, and took a sip from his water, drumming his fingers absently on the Judge's Table. Cami gave him a reprimanding glare.

"Please welcome, Contestant #208!"

Immediately, all the judges sat straightened up. The contestant strode on, walking slowly as she nervously walked to the center of the stage on the stage. Her slim frame was draped in oversized clothes, her hair, though beautiful, was untamed and her deep blue eyes were full of terror.

Cami pasted a smile on her face. "Hello! What's your name dear?"

"C...Caroline For..Forbes, from Mystic Falls."

"And act will you be showing us today?"

"I'll..I'll be sing...singing and playing the piano today. "

"Alright! Good luck then!" Marcel encouraged, flashing a smile to the petrified teen.

Her fingers started playing on the keys, and the audience started to cheer. Marcel leaned towards Klaus.

"Well, she's good with the piano."

Klaus shook his head. "Wait till she sings."

Sure enough, when Caroline started to sing, she only let out a croak, and she faltered. She then opened her mouth again, but nothing came out. Tears then started to pour out of her eyes.

"Oh bloody hell" Klaus muttered. He didn't have time for this. How could this girl expect to be a star if she couldn't even bloody play in front of a crowd? He was tired of this. It had been a great waste of time today, and he could invest his time better elsewhere than listening to this.

Caroline tried to start the song again, but the entire time she stumbled over keys and tripped over the notes of the song, until the song finished with a painful end.

The judges were silent for a moment, until Klaus finally spoke boredly. "Love, I think we can all say that the act wasn't amazing, or even good." Caroline slowly nodded, and played with her hands nervously.

"Please give me another chance, I know I have something to offer in this show." She pleaded.

"Oh come on man, the girl's scared out of her mind!" Marcel protested.

"Well yes, but that doesn't hide the fact that the act was uncomfortable." Klaus turned to Caroline. "There are hundreds of others waiting for the opportunity that you have right now, and honestly it wouldn't be right to take time from them."

Caroline nodded her head in defeat.

"I don't know how you expect to become a professional entertainer if you can't perform in front of a crowd. So it's a no for me." Klaus stated.

He turned to the other judges. He could see their faces-they desperately wanted to help this girl out. Was he the only objective judge here?

"Do any of you say otherwise?" He said, annoyed as he challenged Marcel or Cami to say something, but they all stayed silent.

He turned back to Caroline. "Alright then, thank you!"

"Thanks for the opportunity" Caroline meekly said, before running off stage in tears.

7 years later

Klaus took a sip of his water, as the other judges sat seated at the panel, waiting for the beginning of a new season of StarStruck to begin airing.

"I don't see why we have to get a new judge. Honestly, I think we are splendid as just us." he groaned, looking at the new chair beside him, where the new judge would have the misfortune of sitting.

Marcel merely laughed. "Critics say we need another female presence on the show."

Klaus let out a displeased growl. He knew that the show needed a new presence. But he didn't see why the producers couldn't reveal the new judge until the first day of the season.

"Relax! Its already an accomplishment that this show's been able to go on for this long!" Cami said exasperatedly. Marcel playfully shoved her. "You're just happy that another girl's coming on the show."

Cami shrugged. "I can't complain."

Suddenly, the lights dimmed and cheers filled the air as the hosts, Kol and Enzo walked onstage.

"Welcome to a brand new season of Starstruck! What about that eh?" Kol announced.

"Now as you know, there is a brand new mystery judge appearing this season! And I must say, it will be hilarious to see how the judges react."

chuckles went through the crowd as Klaus raised an eyebrow to the host.

Kol merely smiled cheekily back at him, and continued with his speech,

"This person competed in Starstruck 6 years ago and made it to the finals, before unfortunately dropping out, leaving behind their dreams and hopes for the future." Klaus rolled his eyes-Kol was always so dramatic. But now this former competitor has become a music sensation, and has returned back as a guest judge for this season. Please welcome...Caroline Forbes,, singing her latest hit!"

What! Klaus stiffened and his mouth dropped open as the entire stage was lit up in red and orange smoke. From the center of the stage the blonde singer emerged as she strutted confidently through the stage like she owned it, her beautiful face illuminated in light.

She was all sass and fire and her she hit the notes perfectly to her song.

My momma told me not to say a word

she said spread your wings and baby learn how to fly

She began to dance perfectly in sync with her backup dancers, while still singing. She had improved in her dancing. Klaus thought sourly.

"These wings were made to fly-"

Klaus sat in a daze through the whole song, old emotions and feelings coming back, and memories washing over him like a riptide. Out of every single female in the universe, the guest judge had to be the enigma that was Caroline Forbes.

Caroline ended her song as the crowd erupted in wild applause, and made her way to the judges table to sit beside Klaus.

Klaus turned to hug Caroline, and welcome her as a new judge. "What...are you doing here?" Klaus whispered through his teeth as he smiled for the cameras. His heart was beating wildly, wondering if perhaps she was finally ready.

"Trust me, this is the last place I want to be." Caroline whispered back before they parted. Klaus' heart dropped, as he sat back in his chair.

X~X~X~X~X~X~

Well, what do you guys think? Should I keep going? Why does Klaus react so differently to Caroline now?
