The Origins

Have you ever wondered why the dogs howl to the moon? Well, they've done this since the first canine because, according to the theory about Dogmons, dogs came from outer space, from another world entirely. If you have read a book titled "Were the Dogs Astronauts?", you may know what we're
talking about.
If you didn't, it's a pity because it's out of print.

It was Professor J.J. Lotsalies, author of the book and Alex's father, who found out that the Dogmons had been on Earth many years ago. But nobody believed in what he said and wrote. The Professor believed that Anubis, an ancient deity of Egyptian mythology, was actually a powerful Dogmon who came from outer space, from another planet. Anubis ruled all the north of Africa and was considered a God by the ancient people.

Professor Lotsalies developed the theory that Anubis came from Sirus, a star located in the Canis Major Constellation. To prove it, he showed that a drawing of Anubis that was shaped very much like the constellation. Even though he was immediately thrown out from London University and admitted to the Strawberry Fields Loony Hospital, the professor kept at his research.

Travelling around the world and searching for clues about the Dogmons, Professor J.J. Lotsalies soon went to Rio de Janeiro The Dog Face Hill, the very place where the city was founded, soon attracted the professor's attention. He theorised that the Dog Face Hill represents a dog lying down, an ancient Dogmon monument. His ideas were soon confirmed upon the first excavation.

After an exhaustive digging, and being kicked out ten times by the army (the Dog Face Hill was situated on a military base), the professor found a new clue that led to Gavea Stone. He began his study and observation on the grand rock formation and found out that the stone represents a dog looking at the sky. One day, the professor went to the Gavea Stone to study it up close, but was never seen again under mysterious circumstances.

Alex, the professor's son, was caught off guard in his room by a ball of light floating in front of him. Inside the orb was his father's notebook. Upon reading and learning of his father's notes and disappearance in the notebook, Alex went on to search for him and see if his theories would prove true.

During his vacations, Alex travelled to Rio to meet his family and friends, Cris and Nando. Together, they decided to climb up to the Gavea Stone to find out what the professor was searching for. Once they finally found their way to the Gavea Stone, the trio uncovered a mysterious portal that would lead to Canis-2B, the Dogmons' planet in the Sirus star...
