"Hey Connor," I called out to him after spotting him down the hallway. Connor saw me and immediately started walking my way.

"Thanks for what you did the other day," I tell him and then add, "The blue looked really good on you." Omg, why say I just say that? Today Connor is wearing a pale shirt which only brings out the blue in his eyes.

"It was nothing… I would do anything for a friend," Connor said. Friends, we are friends! How I wish he knew that I thought of him as more. Him with his courage, slightly disheveled hair, and perfect smile. I start to nod a goodbye before starting to heading to my English class down the hall.

"Wait," Connor called out to me, "Jude I really want you to come fishing with me on my dad's boat sometime." Yes, yes, yes, yes.

"Okay but I don't know very much about fishing," I informed Connor while hoping he wouldn't revoke the offer.

"I'll teach you," Connor smiled, "Maybe sometime this weekend." Connor said right before the first bell rang signaling that class would start in two minutes.

"Yes, I'll ask my foster moms today," I said.

"Great," he replied and the looked at the hallway clock, "We better get going if we don't want to be late."

"See you at lunch," I practically shouted with excitement. Then I scurried of t o English. The class was a blur; all I could think about was Connor.

After school I waited impatiently for my tutoring session to be over. I mean I was grateful Stef and Lena cared about my education enough to get me a tutor but I too excited to hang out with Connor. The ride home with Lena seemed to take hours though I knew I her house was ten minutes away.

"How was school?" Lena asked me.

"It was okay but I made a friend," I inform her about everything Connor did for me after I was bullied.

"Wow, he seems great so when am I going to get to meet this hero?" Lena questioned with a sly grin.

"He invited me to go out on his dad's boat this weekend," I told her with a pleading tone.

"A boat? Are those things even safe?" Lena seemed to say more to herself than to me.

"Yes, he's going to teach me how to fish," I say.

"Well, why don't you have him over this week so Stef and I can meet him and then we can decide," Lena suggests.

"Okay," I say. Lena wants to meet Connor. So I get to see him outside of school twice in one week, yes.
