A/N: Hey, like I promised, here is the new and improved version of 'A Kiss on the Subway', however this one is called 'Accidental Kisses'. It is the same storyline as the one-shot, except this one is longer and actually has somewhat of a plot. I will post my one-shot sometime later.

I understand this story won the vote, but I am willing to try to post about a chapter per month (no promises) on my other story, 'Problems, Secrets, and Love'. Please review and tell me if you would like that.

I believe that is it, so here's the first chapter of the story; depending on how it goes, I will be switching POVs. Each chapter will be +2000 words.

Disclaimer: I do not own any PJO material, all credit goes to Rick Riordan.

Accidental Kisses

Chapter 1

"Excuse me, Miss Chase and Mr. Jackson."

Annabeth's POV

I huff and slam my pencil on the table in my room, trying to ignore the obnoxious noise coming from next-door. Rolling my eyes, I slide open my curtains to see the outline of his figure, his black hair messy as ever, his head moving unknowingly to the music. For a second, I consider yelling my complaint out the window with the hopes that he will hear, but of course, that probably won't work anyway.

Closing the curtains, I dejectedly walk back to my table, and continue trying to finish my Calculus homework. About fifteen minutes later, music still blaring, I realize it is a futile attempt to try and finish my math. Putting it away, I narrow my eyes out the window again, wishing he would somehow get pushed out the window and into his backyard. It would be better for all of us.

I shake my head and head downstairs, taking my backpack with me.

"Annabeth, dear, where are you going?" I hear my step-mother's voice from inside the kitchen and soon after, her face appears at the door. I give her a small smile and continue my path to the door.

"I couldn't get any work done, so I decided to go to Thalia's." I explain, looking over my shoulder. She smiles and nods her approval.

"Okay, then. Be back by dinner time." She says. "If you want, Thalia can come over for dinner." She suggests, and I nod my head in reply.

Closing the door behind me, I strut across my driveway and onto the sidewalk. As I pass Percy's house, I see Sally watering the plants in front. She looks up and spots me, and gives me a warm smile.

"Hi, Sally." I say, waving my hand with a huge smile on my face. I love her to death, she is like the mother I never had. Not that my step-mother is bad; I just am not used to seeing her and my step-brothers with my dad. I guess you could say I am being selfish, but they way they interact as a family without me makes me angry and wistful.

"Hello, dear!" Sally says cheerfully, shaking me out of my thoughts. As she hugs me, I can only think of one thing.

That asshole is lucky.

The 'asshole' I am referring to is none other than her son is Percy Jackson; the bane of my existence. He is such an arrogant, cocky bastard and it annoys me to no end. I guess you can say it started when we were young; the moment we met, I knew I would not like him. Now is a good example of our mutual dislike.

"Hey, mom, can I borrow the keys for the-" His voice falters as soon as he sees me with his mother, and I smirk over her shoulder. I can see him resisting the urge to glare at me.

This, for some unknown reason, satisfies me more than it should.

"The car?" Sally asks, unaware of our silent war. He manages a stiff nod and she pats my shoulder lightly before scampering off into the house to fetch him the keys. As soon as she is out of our sight, Percy walks up to me.

"What are you doing here?" He asks, irritation clear in his voice.

"Is it a crime to visit a neighbor?" I ask, raising my eyebrow. He shakes his head, but his irritation soon disappears as a smirk settles on his face.

"I've always known you'd want to visit me," He sighs, shaking his head. "Come in, I'll show you to my bedroom." He winks, making my face flush out of anger.

"In your dreams," I sneer, eliciting a chuckle from him.

"How did you know?" He says in mock surprise. I give him a cold glare before moving the stray blonde curl out of my face.

"I was here to talk to your mother." I stress out the last word to make sure he understands.

"Suit yourself." He says, the smirk still on his face. I am about to mutter some colorful words back, when Sally appears in the doorway, the keys in her hand.

"Here you go, honey. Drive safely." She says, as she gives him a small kiss on the cheek. His face immediately loses the smirk and his eyes soften.

"Okay, Mom. Thanks." He says, walking to his sleek black car without sparing me another glance. I bite back the urge to glare at his receding form and wave to Sally, before walking to the side-walk again.

"I need to go now, so I'll talk to you later." I say, giving her another wave before walking down the street again. She nods and waves back before continuing her work with the plants. I walk down the street with a smile on my face until I reach the Grace's house.

I ring the doorbell about three times before it opens and Jason appears.

"Hey, Annabeth!" He grins, opening the door and gesturing for me go inside. I thank him and walk inside, my feet retracing the familiar path to Thalia's room. When I get there, I see her lounging on her bed, her back against the headboard and her feet straight in front of her. Her eyes are glued to the laptop sitting on her lap, her finger busily clacking against the keyboard.

When she sees me, her eyes widen for a second before a knowing smile materializes on her face.

"Hey, Annabeth," She says, as she moves to the side and pats a spot next to her for me to sit. "Trouble with Kelp Head again?" She asks, giving me a sympathetic glance. I manage a nod as I sit on the bed and lean back on the headboard. She sighs and stares into space.

"I'm sorry my cousin can be such an asshole, but I can't help it." She says, laughing lightly. I chuckle along with her and start to get off her bed.

"Hey," She gives me a questioning look. "Where are you going?"

I gesture to my backpack, which is sitting by the door. "I have to finish some homework." I explain. "Percy had his music up too high so I decided to come here, you know."

She gets an understanding look on her face and refocuses on her computer.

"Okay, finish up your homework. Chop, chop." I laugh before shaking my head and retrieving my backpack.

~o-O-o~

About an hour later, I find myself digging into my step-mother, Susan's spaghetti, Thalia doing the same next to me.

"Thanks for inviting me for dinner, Mrs. Chase." Thalia says, which would be polite if she isn't stuffing her mouth with noodles simultaneously. I roll my eyes, but nod my head.

"I have to agree," I say. "It tastes really good."

"Thank you both, I'm glad you're enjoying it." Susan says with pride.

When we finish eating, Thalia follows me upstairs and to my room.

"Ugh." She groans. "I can't believe we have the huge Greek project due next week." I realize I had totally forgotten about the project. I mentally scold myself, but decide it isn't really hard anyways.

"It's just a small research report on a god or goddess," I say, shaking my head. "It's probably going to be really easy."

"I know that," She mumbles with irritation. "I just don't like the fact that it's with partners." She says, and I have to agree.

"True." I agree. "I wish I don't get paired up with that douche." I mumble. I hear Thalia's snicker and glare.

"Do you think I can stay the night?" She asks, already lying down on my bed. "I'm too tired to walk home." She complains.

"Your house it literally five minutes away." I mutter, shaking my head. She grins.

"I still have to walk, don't I?" She retorts, making me smile.

"Okay, let me ask Susan." I say, as I take the stairs two at a time until I reach the kitchen, where Susan is cleaning up. I can see Mathew and Bobby on the sofa watching Transformers, and I let a small smile come onto my face.

"Susan?" I call, hearing a short reply from the kitchen. I walk in and stand at the doorway.

"Can Thalia stay for the night?" I request, mentally pleading that she says 'yes'. I can hear her sigh, and then look at me.

"Okay, under a few conditions." She says strictly. I try and conceal my excitement, but a grin makes its way onto my face.

"Anything." I smile widely.

"First of all, all lights need to be off by midnight. Secondly, try to keep the noise level soft." She wrinkles her nose as she tries to think of the third thing. When it comes to her, it's like a light bulb over her head. "Oh, yes, you must wake her up in the morning and it's up to you to get her what she needs. I'm busy with the two troublemakers as it is." She says. I nod my head, muttering a soft 'thank you' and then swiftly climbing up the stairs to tell Thalia.

When I get inside, I am not surprised to see her lightly snoring on my bed, fast asleep. With an exasperated sigh, I go to get the sleeping bag so I can sleep on the floor. I have tried to sleep on the same bed as Thalia, but I either don't get the blanket, or I get pushed off. Turning the lights off, I lie down until my eyes close and I drift off into a sound sleep.

~o-O-o~

Thalia and I wait for bus while my legs are tapping the ground impatiently. She huffs and looks at her phone.

"The bus is five-freaking-minutes late!" She exclaims, glaring at the road. Even though I'm equally irritated, I chuckle at her antics.

Finally, the bus arrives, and I can tell we will be just in time to get to first period. As soon as we get to the school, Thalia and I race through the doors, pushing past all the stragglers. She waves before going to her first period, which is math. I head to Biology, which is unfortunately with the devil himself.

Panting, I race across the classroom and sit in my seat just in time to hear the final bell go off. Sighing in relief, I take papers out of my backpack and get ready for class when I feel a tap on my shoulder.

I turn around to see a girl pass me a note, which I take, eying the class first. Opening it, I see someone's messy handwriting scribbled across the middle of it.

I know this writing.

I turn to glare at Percy, who's wearing his all-too-innocent smirk. I mumble 'jackass' in my breath and open the letter.

Hey, babe. Late to class, eh? Never thought I'd see the day.

I feel my face getting warmer as I glare at the note. I grab my pen, make sure the teacher isn't looking, and then write a reply back.

You're the one to talk. Never thought I'd see the day you'd come to class on time. Plus, don't call me 'babe', you moron.

I send him a quick glare and he raises his eyebrow. However, before he can write anything, the teacher clears his throat.

"Excuse me, Miss Chase and Mr. Jackson." He says sternly, his eyes piercing my own. "Do you have something you would like to share with the class?" I am about to open my mouth to say an excuse, but Percy beats me to it.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Walter. Annabeth was just telling me to meet her in the hallway later so we can. . . spend time together." He says, and my eyes go wide as I hear the class snicker. I can tell Mr. Walter is uncomfortable as he clears his throat again.

"Please, um, restrain yourselves from discussing these things in class." He says. "Both of you will report to this class after school and help me clean the classroom as punishment. Mr. Jackson, you've been disrupting our learning too much so I will have to give you a detention. Miss Chase, since you are a good student, I'll let you off this time." I stare at him, slack-jawed, as I try to comprehend what he said.

I turn around to give Percy an icy glare. The smug look on his face proves he has accomplished what he planned to do. Glaring at my table, I manage to get through the rest of the class.

As soon as we're out of the classroom, I walk up to Percy and kick him in the shins. I smirk when he yelps, using the lockers as support.

"Don't ever try that stunt again, Jackson." I say, taking satisfaction in the pain on his face. I smile, somewhat smugly, as I walk to Greek class. As soon as I sit down, I can see Mr. Brunner checking his clipboard.

"Come in, come in." He waves his hand impatiently to get everyone's attention. "Quiet down, please. As you know, we are starting a project, so I'm going to put you in partners by grade. You will have someone from about the same grade percentage as you." He looks as his clipboard and opens his mouth speak again.

"Okay, let's see." His eyes scan the list, and he begins listing the pairs. "Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson, Piper Mclean and Katie Gardner, Will Solace and Jason Grace-"

As the list continues, I sit there in shock, getting a pitiful look from Thalia. Everything is like slow motion as Percy walks over and sits next to me.

"H-how?" I trail off, not being able to believe he has the second best score in the entire class.

"My family is part Greek." He says with a small shrug. It takes me some time to realize we're having a civil conversation even though I'm supposed to be annoyed with him, so I narrow my eyes at him.

"You probably cheated," I mutter. "Anyway, if you don't mind, I'll finish the project and you can just write your name on it." He raises an eyebrow.

"I don't think so." He counters. "You come over to my house later and we'll finish it. I'd like to get it done as soon as possible, so we can work for a couple hours and if you need a break...", a slow grin makes its way onto his face, "I'll find ways to entertain you." He ends, a smirk ending what was beginning to be a somewhat coherent thought out of his not-so-clever mind. I turn my head sharply to glare at him.

"Shut it." I mutter. I am quite good at ignoring Percy, but after everything that happened today, I feel like banging my head into the wall.

"Fine. I'll come over later we'll do it in the living room." As soon as the words are out of my mouth, I curse my word choice. A grin makes its way onto his face.

"Well, adventurous, aren't we?" He chuckles, "We have to be quiet 'cause my mom might be home at-" I cut him off with a hard punch to his arm, using as much force as I can. Even though it feels nice to put him in his place, his muscles make the process slightly more painful than I would like to admit.

"Godammit, you are one violent woman." He says, rubbing his arm angrily. I narrow my eyes at him and consider punching his face, but instead decide to focus on my work.

As soon as class is over, I make my way to Mr. Walter's class, apologizing and helping. Five minutes after I reach there, I realize Percy isn't coming. There are a lot of choice words I could call him right now.

When I finish, I strut across the hallway and meet Thalia outside. She looks positively excited at the fact that her car was repaired and brought to school. When she sees me, she gives me a small smile.

"Tough day?" She asks, a knowing look in her eyes.

"Ugh, I don't want to talk about it." I say, hopping into the car. She sighs and starts the car, backing out of the parking lot.

I stare out of the car, a scowl plastered on my face, wondering how the hell I'm going to finish this project with an idiot of a partner.

That was a great way to start the week.

There we go, first chapter! I'm sorry I posted so late in the day; I didn't think I'd be so busy.

I'll try to update fast, but it will take me some time. If you want faster updates, I suggest more reviews, cause 1) they motivate me 2) they make me guilty I'm not writing, I guess.

Please review/follow/favorite!
