Disclaimer: I don't own High School Musical or High School Musical 2 or any of the characters. Or Dr. Phil.

A/N: O.K. High School Musical isn't really my…forte. But this idea hit me like a big yellow school bus. So I had to do this.

Kelsi Nielson had just written an excellent song for lovebirds, Troy Bolton and Gabriella Montez. But curious Jason Cross wants to know why.

After everyone had left and Kelsi was getting ready for the Ladies' Luncheon, Jason decided to ask.

"Hey Kels?" he asked.

"Yeah?"

"What was your inspiration to write 'You Are the Music in Me'?"

"Troy and Gabriella."

"Other than them."

"No one."

"Oh. Okay" Jason said as he was leaving towards the kitchen.

Kelsi sighed, "Jason, wait."

"Yeah?"

"Not just them. Me and someone else."

"That's it?"

"There's more to the reason."

"Go on. Tell Dr. Jason." Kelsi giggled. Her parents acted and were obsessed with Dr. Phil.

"Well, it was about a guy-"

"Name?"

"Uh. Can't tell ya. P-Personal reasons" Kelsi stammered.

"O.K. Go on."

"Well. I wrote out my feelings into the song. And, if I ever get the nerve to, I want him to-"

"To hear it?" Jason asked.

"Well, yeah. But he's already heard it."

"You like Chad!"

"What? No!"

"Troy?" Kelsi gave him an 'are-you-serious?' look and shook her head. "Zeke?"

"No. In fact, let's play a quick game of 'Hangman' to figure out who it is." Jason simply shrugged and got some of the paper from his pocket. Kelsi marked five blank spaces and then five more. She marked "a", "n", "s", "j", and "o" where they needed to be. Mentally shooting herself, she sighed. Great. I practically gave him the answer, she thought.

Jason blinked twice then asked, "Is it me?" Kelsi merely nodded, "Do you hate me?"

"Kels," She looked at him, "I could never hate you. I…" He mumbled the rest incoherently. (A/N: Oh yeah. I used a BIG word! Go me. Go me. Anyway, on with the story.)

"What?" Kelsi asked.

Jason took a deep breath, "I could never hate you, Kelsi. I…I… I love you." He confessed. Kelsi smiled, "I love you too." He returned her grin with one of his own. Kelsi blushed madly; "So does-" She was cut off by a pair of soft lips gently brushing against her's. "Uh…Uh…" She stammered, forgetting what she was saying. Sudden cheers startled both of them. Jason and Kelsi look towards the door where the cheers came from and saw the entire Wildcat gang, excluding Sharpay and Ryan, cheering. The two [Kelsi and Jason looked at each other, then the Wildcats, and laughed. Then, got back to work.

A/N: Yeah, Yeah. I know. Crappy ending. I'm not good with endings! Lol. Anyway. I hoped you liked it. Review please!
