Somewhere

Somewhere

A/N: I usually do my author's notes at the end, but not for Martin and Rose fics. I just can't…

This is from the musical to end all musicals (in my opinion, anyway) West Side Story. I love it.

Disclaimer: See this site you're on? FANFICTION.net, it's called. Well, that means that this is a fanfiction site, and so is a disclaimer in itself, really.

There's a place for us

Somewhere, a place for us

Peace and quiet, and open air

Wait for us

Somewhere

The sword point rested on Badrang's chest. He babbled for mercy, promising his fortress, his horde, everything!

But Martin didn't hear him. All Martin knew was that the stoat in front of him had killed Rose, and that he must kill the stoat for killing her that he loved so dearly. He drove the sword down, and then levered it out of the vermin corpse, now nothing but that, never again to be the Tyrant.

As he collapsed beside Rose, tears threatened to overflow, but he forced them back.

There must be a place where goodbeasts could live and love, he thought. Not even Noonvale can be safe altogether…

Somewhere.

There's a time for us

Someday, a time for us

Time together with time to spare

Time to love, time to care

Someday

There would be a time for them to love each other, when there were no worries. They wouldn't have to make the most of every moment, for in Dark Forest no one ever grows old.

Someday.

Somewhere

We'll find a new way of living

We'll find a way of forgiving

Somewhere

Somewhere they could find a way of forgiving Badrang for all the pain he had caused his enemies. Somehow Martin could never imagine that as hard as he tried. Even though Badrang would burn in Hellgates for all eternity, they could never forgive him for everything he had done.

There's a place for us

A time and place for us

Hold my hand and we're halfway there

Hold my hand and I'll take you there

Together they would find that place, where love reigned as sweet and serene as peace. Already they had been halfway, by simply loving each other. When he followed Rose, she would take him there. She knew it on earth, and now she would know it in Dark Forest, before her time. It was too painful to imagine.

Somehow

Someday

Somewhere

Somehow they would find their true home.

Someday they would find their true home.

Somewhere they would find their true home.
