I was digging for information about Book 2 of LOK and learned some things like Korra going to the North Pole for further spiritual training. I'm not sure if Mako and Bolin go with her, but this was just a fluffy sibling moment that came to my mind for Mako and Bolin.

DISCLAIMER: I do not own Legend of Korra or its characters.

As a firebender, it was very easy for Mako to warm himself. This did not stop the frigid climate of the North Pole from sucking in his opinion. He gripped the ship's railing and narrowed his eyes, desperately searching for a glimpse of the giant ice fortress that was supposed to be the Northern Water Tribe. All he could see was water and icebergs, the same sight he'd been seeing for a week. He almost missed the plain water he'd had to look at for nearly two months before that. Muttering to himself, Mako lifted his hands to his mouth and blew a fiery breath to warm them.

"Mako?" a pitiful voice from behind him called. He turned to see his little brother standing there. The usually cheerful earthbender looked absolutely miserable. Instantly aware of (and kind of guilty about) Bolin's inability to warm himself while he could, Mako knew exactly what he wanted. Rolling his eyes, he opened his arms.

"Come on." he said, granting him permission. Bolin almost tackled him with the force of his hug, and his thick arms felt like a Mecha-tank had Mako around the waist.

"Bo." he nearly wheezed.

"Sorry." Bolin said sheepishly. Mako felt the arms around his waist loosen, and he took a deep breath. He carefully arranged his arms around his brother's shoulders and concentrated on raising his body temperature enough so that Bolin could feel the warmth through their layers of clothing. Gradually, the earthbender's shivering lessened. For a time, Mako let Bolin hold him, feeling just as warm as his brother did until he heard a familiar voice.

"Isn't that sweet?" his girlfriend cooed, mocking them.

"Korra!" Mako exclaimed, letting Bolin go. He and Korra had been dating for six months now, but there were still things he preferred she didn't see. Practically snuggling with his little brother was one of them.

Bolin however, had no such compunctions. Continuing to grip Mako like a particularly determined barnacle, he turned them so that he was the one facing Korra, bodily lifting and moving his older brother like a rag doll, much to the latter's displeasure.

"It's cold!" the earthbender whined, "Please tell me we'll be getting to the Northern Water Tribe soon!"

"Actually, I came to tell you that we'll be there in an hour." Korra replied, grinning, "I didn't mean to interrupt your cuddle-fest, though."

"You didn't!" Bolin said, much to Mako's mortification. The embarrassment deepened when he heard Korra laugh.

"Bo!" he whispered harshly.

"What?" his brother whined, looking up at him. Mako glared at him. Bolin returned it before reluctantly letting him go. Mako quickly turned to look at Korra.

"Don't stop on my account!" she chortled, "I have other things to take care of before we get there. Enjoy yourselves." She turned and walked away. Muttering to himself again, Mako turned to look where the ship was heading. Once again, all he saw was water and icebergs. Where exactly would they be docking or whatever it was boats did? He turned away from the horizon and caught the look in his little brother's eye.

"Don't even think about it." he warned, still irritated at Bolin. His younger brother looked disappointed for a second, and then his hopeful expression returned, this time tinged with mischief. Mako didn't like that look. Before he could say anything about it though, Bolin was running.

"Korra!" he called, "You're a firebender! Hold me!"

"Bolin!" Mako yelled, running after him.

Hope you liked reading it as much as I liked writing it.

I'd like reviews, everyone. :)
