"Uh, Konan," yawned Hidan from behind the blue-haired girl. She turned around with an emotionless look on her face, though truly she was wondering why she hadn't noticed him coming in. "I recently listened to one o' Tobi's rants and..."
"You listen to him?" Even she had to admit, she didn't think Hidan listened to anything.
"Uh- SHUT UP! I just wanted to know since he said a week from now is something called Valentines Day, or something like that. What the Hell is it?" asked the white-haired man, pulling at his open Akatsuki cloak. "Damn it... these cloaks sure are humid... Anyway I'm interested. He was bragging about having made cake for everyone. Who the fuck makes cake for their friends just because it's a certain day?"
"Valentines Day is a day where you basically send people cards, food, flowers or hearts. It's mostly done for the person you feel closest to. I think it's a waste of time."
"Hearts?" questioned Hidan, a grin on his face causing his eyes to narrow.
"Yes, Hidan, hearts. You send hearts to people you're close to. They represent love and friendship."
Hidan danced out of the room, maniacally laughing and humming a strange, ominous tune as he left. Why was he so happy? Did Hidan actually want to celebrate Valentines?
A week from then, they all sat at the Akatsuki's table. Tobi jumped up and shouted across the room.
"I was a good boy and made yummy cake for everyone!" Around the room were eleven plates of cake, with names written on them. Instead of 'Deidara', however, 'senpai' was written on the blond's piece.
"I got no problem eating something with my own name on it," laughed the Jashinist taking a huge bite of his cake. "Mmm! It's tasty as Hell!"
"How narcissistic," commented the Uchiha who sat across from Hidan.
"Hey, bitch, what did you do for Valentines?" Purple eyes set on the raven-haired man.
"Nothing. It is, after all, a waste of time."
"HA! Well I've done something for Valentines, so I suppose I deserve this!"
Kisame spat out his water, and stared at Hidan. "You celebrate Valentines Day?"
"Fuck yeah, I do."
When breakfast was finished, Kakuzu went straight back to his bedroom to lie down. But on his side table, there was a heart. A human heart covered in blood which looked like it had recently been ripped out. Under it was a note. Happy Valentines Day.
Who would send him a bloody human heart on Valentines Day? Just ONE person was that dense.
"Hidan..."
