Prologue

Kurt Hummel sat in his bedroom waiting. Blaine still hadn't arrived and he had begun to get worried. After all, he took their study time together pretty seriously, considering his switch to McKinley didn't magically make him a senior with the same classes as Kurt. They really only got to meet up at lunch, glee club, and "booty" camp. He was so sweet and he sung like nobody's business, and Kurt wanted that time, too!

"Sorry I'm late!" Blaine pushed through the door, interrupting Kurt's daydreams about him, sounding very out of breath, "The car broke down and it took some time to make it work again."

Kurt stared into his eyes for a moment, longing to kiss him, and then blinked himself back to reality. "Oh, no problem," he managed to spit out.

"So, do you want to tutor me like the senior that you are?" he asked.

"Ha, ha ok."

"Math or science first?" he asked.

"Um… your choice," Blaine was used to making decisions having been the head of the Warblers and all, he figured he would choose in a second and –

"Math," –he was right

"Ok take out your Algebra text book."

They studied for two hours straight. Then, they heard a noise coming from Finn's room so they decided to investigate. They opened up Finn's door to – Rachel? Not Rachel and Finn, just Rachel.

"Hey Rachel," Kurt said questioningly," what are you doing here?"

"Shh, Kurt I can't talk right now… wait Kurt… lives here… busted…" the end was muttered but Kurt could hear.

"I'm trying to print out the lyrics for Finn for a song I think we should sing for nationals this year – you can never have too much practice"

"But Rachel nationals is months away."

"Like I said, you can never have too much practice," she scrawled the words, "From Rachel with love " at the bottom of the page, folded it up and put it on his bed, then sashayed out of the room, waving an elegant goodbye to the cute gay couple. That was how their win at nationals came to be.
