Maleficent walked down the street lost in thought. Her daughter, as usual, was at the center of her thoughts. Maleficent couldn't help but wonder what her baby girl would be like. Her anger at Snow and Charming was still there quietly bubbling but had for the moment been pushed down under the elation of meeting her daughter. Suddenly, Maleficent was thrown from her thoughts by a yell from her subconscious. Emma's distinctive yellow car had driven by. Maleficent quickened her pace to follow the car but she hung back when she realized the Charming's, Hook, and Henry were also approaching the car, which had parked in front of Granny's diner. The windows of the car were dark so Maleficent couldn't see inside. Emma had emerged first and immediately walked over to Hook. Maleficent hung back her nervousness keeping her from acting on the urge to run over and demand to know where her daughter was. While Emma was hugging Henry, Regina appeared out of the backseat of the car but there was no other movement from the car.
Maleficent was about to turn away in despair. Emma had not found her daughter. But then she froze. Emma was helping a young woman out of the passenger seat. Maleficent couldn't stop the gasp that escaped her. Her daughter was beautiful! She didn't miss the look Lily gave Snow and Charming as she walked past them. She somehow knew what had happened. Maleficent brushed that thought off easily. That was one less hurdle to cross. Maleficent saw Lily eye her before dropping her gaze to the ground.
Maleficent didn't know what to say. She wanted to know everything about her daughter. But Lily didn't look thrilled to be here and Maleficent didn't want to get into it with an audience. There was an awkward silence for a moment before Emma jumped in with the suggestion that the two of them have some private time to talk. She pointed out Granny's diner to Lily before herding her family, Regina, and Hook all turned and headed down the street.
