"Horatio, I don't mean to pry, but why are you carrying a water gun?"
Before Calleigh could react, Horatio had grabbed her hips, and pulled her down next to him into a crouching position.
"Shhh." He placed a finger to his lips.
"Why are we whispering?" Calleigh whispered back, her accent thickening slightly with the lowered tone.
"Here." Horatio whispered back as he pulled his jacket away from his waist. Calleigh could barely contain her giggles when he pulled a bright orange water pistol from the holster where his Glock normally resided.
"Who are we after?" She asked as she took the plastic weapon.
"Speed." Horatio nearly growled.
No further explanation was needed on Calleigh's behalf. Earlier that week Tim had gotten the brilliant idea to play a joke on their boss. A good friend of Speed's owned a hockey rink in Tampa, so Tim had collected all of the ice shavings from the Zamboni, and had built an igloo around Horatio's Hummer. Needless to say, Horatio was less then tickled about the situation.
"Shh...Someone's coming!" Calleigh crouched lower to the ground and prepared to leap from behind the car they were currently hiding behind. She could feel Horatio's presence behind her. Taking in a deep breath to try to clear her mind of any unprofessional thoughts that still lingered, Calleigh unconsciously rocked back to her heels, bringing her form closer to his. If he noticed this, he didn't say anything. Calleigh could feel his warm breath on her exposed neck, and she tried to stop a shiver from ripping through her body.
Horatio on the other hand, was doing everything in his power to stop himself from reaching out, and crushing the petite CSI against the car, letting her know just what effect she had on him. His attention was brought back to the task at hand however, when the clicking of someone's shoes against the pavement closed in on them.
"Busted." Calleigh whispered through a giggle before leaping from behind the car, with Horatio right on her heels.
"Freeze Speed!" Horatio commanded, and then without waiting for a reply, both he and Calleigh opened fire on their unsuspecting victim.
A startled cry came out of their prey's mouth, and it wasn't until then, that they both realized they had fired upon the wrong person. Sheepishly they both lowered their guns, and immediately began offering apology's to the wet detective.
Frank Tripp looked down at the water that was now coursing down his body, and then looked back up at the two CSI's.
"Care to explain?" He asked, as he unsuccessfully tried to mop off some of the water.
"Speed!" Calleigh exclaimed.
"Speed? What's he got to do with this?" Frank motioned to his soaking wet suit.
"No, Speed!" Horatio pointed behind Frank to where Tim was looking at them laughing.
"Get him!" Calleigh shouted, surprising everyone. She quickly sprinted in the direction of the young trace expert's direction, her plastic weapon already aimed. Speeds face showed his surprise, and he quickly took off running. Lucky for him, he made it to his car before Horatio and Calleigh could catch up to him.
"Tomorrow?" Horatio looked at Calleigh, letting out a defeated sigh.
"Same time, same place." Calleigh agreed.
Frank shook his head at the two CSI's antics, and then Tripp stepped around the puddle as he headed back to his car.
Finis!
