The tiny bundle wiggled in the Doctors arms. Wrapped in a blanket, the baby kicked her tiny legs. The Doctor smiled such a precious smile, the one only a new father can smile, beaming down at his first born.
"She's beautiful," the Doctor said turning to his wife, the smile still spread across his face. Gail smiled back.
"She is."
The Doctor slowly moved to sit on the side of the bed, next to his wife. He leant down to gently kissing her on the head. He carefully cradled the babe, careful not to harm the new born. He leant his face down class to the child.
"You are so special little one," the Doctor whispered to the tiny child. "You are a precious gift. You will do so much, explore the universe. You will do great things."
"When she is much older," Gail said, giving the Doctor a look. She leant over, placing a hand on the child's forehead to comfort her.
"When you are older," he confirmed.
The small child giggled. The Doctor grinned.
"Your glowing Doctor," Gail said.
"Am I," he stood up, looking in a mirror.
"I am," he grinned at his reflection. There was a yellow glow to his skin.
"Something so beautiful must have a name," Gail asked.
"Well now that I know she's a girl, I can't call her 'the'."
Gail was relieved at this.
"Then what shall we call her?" she asked.
"She's so small," the Doctor said.
"That would be an odd name," Gail replied.
'Love you my pride,' the Doctor said telepathically to his wife. The two held a gaze between one another.
'We share the love,' she replied.
"Chloe, Galifryan for small one who is loved," the Doctor said.
The Doctor sat down again, allowing Gail to see her daughter. She smiled at the baby who was now asleep in the Doctors arms.
"That is beautiful my love," she replied.
"Then she will be known as Chloe, daughter of the Doctor and Gail."
"The gem in your eye my love," Gail added closing her eyes.
"Rest my love," he said, kissing her head.
He stood taking the baby out of the room, out into the open. He bounced the baby gently in this arms.
"Welcome to the universe little one," he spoke. He stood for a moment letting the breeze cross his face. He stroked the baby's face with his thumb. The small baby smiled, giggling, woken from her sleep. But she did not cry.
"I love you Chloe," he spoke.
While the Doctor held his new born, something was stirring in the universe. The Doctor could feel the change in the air. Something was building, an almighty war. The last time war.
