The sun shone down on the small Kyoto residence currently occupied by a wolf, and a rooster. While the outside was peaceful, and calm; all was not going quite so nicely within…
Sano sat quietly and at a loss. He didn't know how to handle himself. He felt so unnerved.
Minutes went by and still Sano could feel those piercing, narrow, amber eyes on him. He was starting to freak out.
"uh so are you.. hungry, or something?" he stuttered nervously
A simple nod was his only response.
"oh,, uh.. kay. Whaddaya want?" he asked unease clear in his deep, smooth voice.
The gruff reply was short, to the point, and painfully familiar "plain. hot. soba."
The fighter for hire blinked "really? I'm not sure that counts as a meal…"
A disapproving look slid over the already frowning sharp features of his companion who simply repeated himself once more, aggravation seeping into his already acid tone "plain. hot. soba. …Ahou."
"Jeez what a crank." The young man grumbled as he got up and wandered into the kitchen. He quickly located some noodles that were already prepared, and set them to heat up. Impulsively he stuck his head out the door to check on the wolf he had left at the table… Sano flinched the bastard hadn't moved a muscle! He was just sitting there looking bored.
The ex-thug grabbed the now hot dish, and slipped back to the table "here you go, after you're done do you wanna--" he was cut off by a sharp glare, and an outstretched hand motioning for the bowl. Sano dumbly handed him the bowl, and braced himself wearily. God! He still couldn't quite grasp it… he really… and it was so…
He turned to stare again. It didn't matter the wolf was fed… now all that was left was to figure out how to get him into bed….

*a few hours later*
Sano had never been so glad to anyone in his entire life, as he was when they returned.
"How was he?" The woman asked with a smile.
"…" Sano shrugged "No injuries."
She laughed as she shrugged off her coat "Glad to hear."
The man frowned as though he had been hoping the wolf would devour Sano.
"Thanks again Mr. Sagara." She bowed as he walked out.
The woman disappeared inside leaving only Sano, and the tall man still dressed in uniform. Sano halted and turned to face the rival that wouldn't acknowledge him. "Saito." He called out.
The old wolf glanced back at him from the door "What now, ahou?"
Sano waved, and started walking away "Just in case you didn't know… Your kid is friggin' creepy."
