Snowflakes
By SMYGO4EVA

Pale, milky blue eyes stared out the chilled glass window, the cold from the outside world radiating onto his skin, as flaxen blonde wisps of hair slowly drooped upon his now closed eyelids. The sky was pitch black, but the white snow continued from fall from the sky, as if as a gift to all who lived on Earth.

Fai smiled gently, at a sleeping Sakura in his arms, and he wasn't surprised that it took very little for her to fall asleep on a day like this. Kurogane and Syaoran were lying on their respective couches as well, resting the night away, exhausted from their travels. Mokona slept comfortably in Syaoran's arms, snuggled and almost looking like a white puff in the boy's arms.

The magician knew that he had to sleep, as the mind and body can not go without rest for very long, and though he knew that his dreams and memories would bring little comfort, he'll feel better in the morning, and ready for what a winter wonderland the earth will become.

Still holding the fragile, tiny frame of the princess in his arms, tucked safely in a warm blanket as well as he, Fai hugged Sakura close and closed his eyes, sleep no longer the patient type, the last thing he would see was the snowflakes gently floating to the crystalline earth.

The princess then settled in the magician's arms, and sighed. She knew that the snow was a reminder of much heartache, of a memory from long days past to the mage, but she also knew that the winter was beautiful, as just he was, and that sleep would keep his beauty and his true self from deteriorating anymore.

The warmth was nevertheless a comfort to them both.

For the reminders of the past, present and future….it can all wait until morning.

(A.N: Inspiration came from the spirit of the Yuletide season, and the lovely snow that is of the winter of the season. For everyone, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!)
