"Ain't nobody dope as me," Terra sang quietly, just having gotten out of the shower, as she wrapped her body and hair up in separate towels. It had been a particularly intense battle training session today, and she had fallen down and gotten scuffed up more than her fair share. Yes, she had definitely been due for a rinse. Continuing to hum, she donned a bathrobe and started walking towards her room.
"Terra!" With her eyes closed, jamming to the music in her head, the geomancer heard the voice before she saw its owner; she quickly realized, though, that it belonged to her Tamaranean friend. But why Starfire was standing outside her door, and why she sounded so frantic, she didn't know.
"What's up, Star?" Terra raised an eyebrow as Starfire closed the distance between them.
"It is most terrible! Your privacy has been violated!" the alien told her friend, who stared back with wide eyes.
"What do you mean? Was someone in my room?" "What did they find? Oh, god, if they were snooping..." Understandably, Terra sounded frightened. There were things in her room that only she was supposed to know about.
"I wish it were as tame as that," Starfire corrected, which elicited a confused and still very frightened look from Terra. "Please, follow me to the living room; I will show you there."
Warily, the blonde followed her friend where she was leading; when they arrived, though, Terra became immediately and very much aware of what part of her privacy had been violated. Playing on the largest television screen this side of the 2000-inch one they were selling down at Frank's was a clip of Terra in the shower -- in fact, she realized, the shower she had just taken.
"What?.!" Terra yelled after a moment of staring. "Who did this? And why?" Starfire shook her head, indicating she didn't know, which prompted Terra to run for the remote as quickly as she could and at least turn it off.
When she got to the couch, though, she found no remote in sight and grumbled. It was then that a gloved hand holding the remote reached out from under the couch, which definitely caught Terra's attention. She would recognize that hand anywhere. Taking the remote from it, she said, "Beast Boy, get out from under there."
Against his better judgment, the green teenager transformed, slithering out from under the couch, then returned to his normal form and grinned at Terra sheepishly. "Uh... happy April Fools' Day, Terra!"
"This is your idea of a joke? Beast Boy, you put a camera on me while I was in the shower!" Terra retaliated, trying to keep her voice -- and temper -- under control. "You went way too far with this!"
"Dude, I'm sorry! But... you gotta admit, it was kinda funny, right?" Beast Boy was grasping at straws and he knew it, but he would do anything to try to salvage the joke.
Terra glared at him for a moment, then, without breaking gaze, said, "Star, come over here."
Barely had the alien girl gotten there than Terra stopped looking at Beast Boy and whipped her head around to face the Tamaranean. In one swift motion, Terra's arm was around Starfire's shoulders and their faces only inches away from each other. The smaller girl whispered "sorry" before she closed the distance between them, firmly pressing her lips to Starfire's.
The kiss was over practically before it had even begun, and when Terra pulled away she looked from the girl she had just kissed, who looked and was completely bewildered, to Beast Boy, who was staring with the same wide-eyed look Terra had given the video recording.
"There. Happy April Fools' Day, Beast Boy," Terra said sarcastically before storming out of the room, silently fuming at him for ever thinking that something like that could be funny.
After she had left, Beast Boy and Starfire shared a look in uncomfortable silence.
"Dude."
