Well hello there everyone, I'm currently working through all of my stories to edit them. Some will be deleted, but I wanted everyone to know that chapters will be coming soon. I just need to edit all of my stories before hand and sort through how I want them all to go.
Disclaimer: I do NOT own Criminal Minds. I DO own my own character and those of anyone extra that I may decide to add in.
The Killer
BAU headquarters; Quantico, Virginia
"Come on Morgan really! Did you honestly expect me to believe you?" Spencer Reid asked as Derek Morgan, Aaron Hotchner, and Penelope Garcia sat around the conference table waiting. For what though, most of them didn't know.
"Well I had to try pretty boy." Morgan smirked as the rest of the group laughed, or in Hotch's cause, lightly chuckled. Reid just stared blankly at him. "Guess I probably shouldn't have. So Hotch, why are we here exactly on our day off? I get that it wasn't originally our day off, but you can't go and change it on us now. I've got the night already planned for Reid and I to go clubbing."
"Sorry to say but we don't have it off anymore." The same confused look showed on all of their faces. Hotch looked down at his watch and nodded to Garcia, "we might as well start."
Garcia stood and passed out the usual papers to Reid and the tablets to everyone else. "For the past 16 years there have been six murders total on the 6th, 8th, and 9th of August."
Reid's brow furrowed as though he were trying to remember something. "Something about those dates are familiar... other than of obvious WW2 importance with the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki." Reid muttered to himself.
"Local police aren't sure as to why these murders are taking place. They only happen on these three days and then the killer just disappears until the next year."
"This guy's been holding himself in all year just for six kills?" Morgan raised an eyebrow, "that's not right baby girl. Most killers can't resist the kill for long periods of time, let alone a whole year."
"Yes, normally that would be true. Although, should they have a person of interest that is their main reason for killing then they would hold themselves back." Hotch picked up his tablet and looked directly at Morgan. "Take Foyet for example." The room went quiet for a moment, everyone knew that this was a very touchy subject for them all, but mainly for their boss. "Or this Unsub could have been arrested or just moved to a new location and no one has made the connection yet. Either way, it's been long enough and the local Marshals have called us in themselves."
"So where's Rossi and Kate?" Reid popped in with, trying in his awkward way to ease the tension in the room.
"On their way to a serial arsonist in Pavillion, Wisconsin. Now, if we may return to the case at hand because I would rather these pictures get off of my screen as soon as possible." Everyone looked at the big monitor as 96 pictures appeared. 48 of the pictures were of males with medium length light brown hair, brown eyes and were tall and thin. The other pictures were of women. Each with dark brown hair ranging from long to mid back length, eyes from green to blue to gray, delicate features, tall, thin and well toned.
"Don't those pictures look a little like Reid over here?" Morgan and the team looked over at Reid. After a few minutes of staring they could see that he was too busy paying attention to the case details to listen to any of Morgan's bantering. Although some of them did have similarities, none of them looked close enough to worry about. Which all of them were thankful for.
"How were the victims killed Garcia?" A light voice sounded from the doorway. Heads turned to see everyone's favorite former liaison turned profiler Jennifer 'JJ' Jareau standing there with a case file in her hands. Everyone stood to quickly give their friend a hug. She'd been out of work recently due to being sick and then her husband and son falling ill right after her.
"Glad you could make it JJ. I almost thought that you wouldn't be able to." Hotch said as he also shook JJ's hand before pointing to a seat. "You can sit down if you want but wheels up in an hour. So I want to be out of here within the next ten minutes."
"I'll stand thanks," Hotch nodded and returned to his seat. Quick hugs went around as everyone smiled at seeing their friend. "So, how were the victims killed?"
"That's the worst part, at least for some of them. All of the women were... well tortured for what probably feels like weeks, nursed back to a semi-healthy state and then killed with Tetrodotoxin. Once dead they are placed in various public places, completely clothed and with no external injuries that can be seen by the naked eye. The men on the other hand are brutally tortured. Their tongues cut out and then..." Garcia took a deep breath. "This is why I've got a bundle of puppies pictures ready to look at after this. Their heads are drilled into and their brains removed. That is their cause of death."
"What kind of person could do that?" Reid muttered more to himself, still fixed intently on the case photos. "He even places the male's body in the same place as the females and tied their pinkies together with a red string, but makes sure that no part of the male is touching the female."
Looking at his watch once more Hotch stood up and began walking out. "We'll be early, but let's go."
"So where are we going Hotch?" Morgan followed the team leader out with JJ and Garcia right behind.
"Back to Las Vegas."
Morgan, Garcia and JJ shared a quick grin, knowing that once their case was solved they would be able to find some time to relax and enjoy themselves in the city of sin. Reid on the other hand was just now leaving the conference room, having heard their destination. He had made sure that the room was neat and ready for the next team. Having grabbed the needed files Reid walked down to the awaiting elevator. Since they were going to Vegas Reid didn't need to grab his usual go bag. The last time he had left his hometown he had made sure to get a place and store extra needed items and clothes there. On good days his mother was able to live there with a nurse, but mostly it was unused. "Where's your go bag Reid?" JJ asked with a smile.
"Hmm? Oh, I have one waiting I think."
"Pretty boy seems out of it, what did you get some lovin' last night?" Morgan leaned over to ruffle Reid's short hair. Reid smacked Morgan's hand away without any real strength to it. The elevator doors closed and the BAU team made their way to the jet.
At the plane
"Alright, let's just get onto the plane and we can read more into what's going on." Hotch and JJ carried their go bags towards the plane and up the stairs. Garcia walked behind them and Morgan behind her, carrying her go bag as well as his own. Garcia was excited to be going with her co-workers/friends, but that also meant that this was a very serious case for her to leave to bat-cave. Thankfully, she made sure to put her puppy pictures onto her tablet for the flight.
"Hurry up Reid or all of the sugar will be gone for the coffee," Morgan called back as he entered the plane.
Reid waited for a moment before closing the SUV trunk and making his own way up the jet stairs only to be blocked by Morgan's back. "Move over Morgan, I'd like to sit down." Morgan didn't move though. He and the others just stood there staring at something that Reid couldn't see. Squeezing his way past his friends/co-workers Reid stopped, only to see a woman come out from the back section and look up at him. "McKayla," he whispered in shock.
