A Moment in Time
Harry held James in his arms marveling at how very small he was. The boy's tiny little fingers wrapped tightly around his father's index finger, his eyes shut in sleep. Two weeks later and Harry still had trouble believing he had helped to create the little infant. He didn't notice that Ginny had come in until she rested her head on his shoulder.
"How is he?" she asked softly.
"Good, I guess," Harry answered not taking away from James.
Ginny laughed ever so quietly and ran gentle fingers through jet black tuft of hair atop the baby's head.
"He fell asleep a few minutes ago." he said.
"You should probably put him in his crib," she suggested. Yet, it was she who took James from Harry's arms to lay him in the hand carved crib.
Harry came to stand behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist and nuzzling her hair just a little. He gazed again at the sleeping baby. As he did, a tender smile found it's way to his face. What a beautiful miracle.
"Harry?" Teddy's soft voice from behind him interrupted the still silence of the room.
Harry turned and lifted the boy easily into his strong arms despite that Teddy was now nearing seven years old. Teddy's hair turned from a startling red to a soft blue color as he snuggled into Harry's shoulder. He looked down with brotherly affection at James curled up in his crib. A warm feeling spreading in his chest. It was a mixture of pride, happiness, love, and a feeling of belonging. His whole countenance began to shine as he savored the feeling – that at that young of an age he was only just beginning to understand – .
Ginny saw the soft glow that seemingly was being emitted by Teddy. She felt Harry's arm that wasn't holding wrap around her and she leaned against him lovingly. It was a chore to be the mother of the house, but looking at all three of her boys, she knew there wasn't another place she would rather be.

A/N Just something that popped into my head. Nothing overly special but I liked the feel of it.
