Title: The Sniffles
Game: Kingdom Hearts
Characters: Riku, Naminé
Pairings: Riku/Naminé
Naminé sniffled, covering her mouth with the palm of her hand before coughing. The weather was colder and the old mansion she inhabited was lacking any sort of central heating. She shivered as she quietly drew in her sketch pad, wishing DiZ would be willing to let her burn some wood in the old fireplace. He would only shake his head and say: "We do not want people knowing we occupy this mansion."
She found it hard to draw when she was cold though since her hands trembled along the page. "I hope I'm not," she coughed, "catching a cold."
"Already sounds like you've caught one," the handsome young man, also known as Riku, concluded. He walked towards her before taking a seat and sighing. "You really should take better care of yourself,"
The pretty blonde flushed red with embarrassment. "S-Sorry….DiZ won't let me make a fire…"
"Then I will," he announced, standing to his feet and walking to the fireplace. He found some old, rotting wood that would do just the trick. "Fira," he whispered, igniting a flame from his voice and shooting it into the white fireplace.
Heat dispersed into the air, warming the room to the core. Naminé let out a gentle sigh of relief. "Thank you, Riku."
He nodded as he pulled he pulled his dark cloak off, "Here," he stated, holding the large, black outfit to her, "Put this on."
"Eh?" she blinked at it before looking up at him and shaking her head, "I couldn't take this—"
"Naminé, you can't get any sicker. Just…put it on," he said in a hushed tone.
She slowly nodded, taking the coat and pulling it on. It was rather big on the pretty blonde and her body was hidden well in its warmth. She smiled as she drew in a slow, steady breath. "It smells like you," she thought aloud, before she realized what she said. She quickly looked down, hoping to hide her fiercely blushed face.
Riku coughed his acknowledgement, also looking back towards the fire to hide his reddening face. "Th-That should keep you warm," he mumbled, glad his eyes were hidden from her under his blindfold. He didn't expect Naminé to be so straight forward, but apparently she hadn't thought so either.
The young man let out a sigh and turned, gently pulling the sketchpad from her grasp and set it aside. "Now get some rest. Sora's memories can wait until you're better."
Naminé looked as if she was ready to protest against him, but her tired eyes and pale face worked against her. "Take a nap," he suggested, turning and walking towards the door. "I'll check in on you later,"
"Okay," Naminé said quietly, smiling at him. "Thank you, Riku—for taking care of me,"
"You're welcome," he said before disappearing from the room.
