First Chapter: Younger!mute!Elsa meets older!Anna for the first time.
"This" means Elsa is signing.
Ten year old Anna went to the orphanage with her parents. Bad choice, because she wanted to adopt all of the children as her siblings. There was one, though, who wasn't apart of the crowd the were playing while her parents were talking with the advisor of the orphanage to find the right child. This little girl, who looked about seven, had platinum blond hair and blue eyes, narrowed in conentration, and wearing a blue dress. She was sitting at a table, reading a book, seemingly trying to block out what was happening around her.
The strawberry-blonde walked over to the girl and looked over her shoulder. The book was old English literature, which made her believe she had found the perfect sister, her father was a professor in that same subject. She was so immersed in the book, based on what she could read, that she didn't notice the blue eyes staring at her until she felt a gust of air hit her cheek.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. I just wanted to talk to you, but then I peered over your shoulder at the book, and.." The girl made a hand gesture for her to calm down, and that it was okay. Anna stayed quiet for a few moments, before asking "you can hear me?" A nod was the answer "but, you can't talk?" A shake of the head. "What's your name?"
She signed something, but Anna couldn't make it out. She sighed before spying a piece of paper and pen. She took them and set them infront of the girl "can you write it down?" The girl nodded and wrote down, in a manner that reflected the book she had been reading a few moments prior.
"Elsa."
A smile crossed Anna's face. That name was pretty. She blinked when Elsa pushed the paper to her, something new written on it.
"What's yours?"
Anna looked embarresed. "My name's Anna. How long have you been here?"
"Since birth, I guess."
As Anna tried to find some way to make up for that comment, the paper was pushed under her nose again. The next words written sort of threw her for a loop.
"Would you like to draw some snowmen?"
Anna nodded "yeah. I'd like that."
Ten minutes went by before Anna's parents came looking for her. Her mother, a woman with dark hair and eyes, was the first to see her. She was drawing with a little girl with platinum hair in a blue dress. They were drawing snowmen. Anna's had the crest of the Arendelle family on it in the background, along with the Corona family crest. The little girl's had the most beautiful snowflakes on it that she had ever seen.
"Anna." Her father said, drawing the attention of both girls, "come on. We're leaving."
The girl looked sad, but Anna looked worse. She looked like she was going to cry when she said goodbye to the girl.
"What's your name, dearie?" Anna's mother asked, her husband picking up Anna's drawings.
The girl wrote something on the paper and then passed it to her. "My name is Elsa, ma'am. I'm sorry if you were expecting a spoken reply, but I'm a mute. I have been since birth, and no one has ever looked at me like I'm an actual person. Well, until Anna. I hope you find her a sibling who is just like her and that she can have a lot of fun and adventures with."
Her husband read it as well, and made eye contact with her for a few moments after he finished. He chuckled. "I think she has."
Elsa, not bothering to pull the paper back to her to write anything, pointed to herself. The man nodded, a smile across his face. Elsa smiled, but Anna's squeal was enough to cover both of their excitement. Anna hugged her parents, before hugging Elsa.
"I promise I'll be the best older sibling ever." Anna said, taking Elsa's hand.
Elsa nodded, smiling. They skipped off to get Elsa's things while their parents signed the paperwork for the adoption.
