Title: How You See Me

Game: Kingdom Hearts

Characters: Riku, Naminé

Pairings: Riku/Naminé

If there was one thing Riku hated it were bullies. And it seemed that Destiny High, Destiny Island's high school, held quite a few of these impolite boys and girls. It also seemed that their favorite targets were gentle spirited students. Today's, Riku observed, target happened to be Naminé who was, by far, the sweetest and most gentle girl Destiny High had ever set their eyes upon. When the final bell rang, the timid blonde packed her bag and headed for the door. Riku met her eyes as she passed him a gentle smile and said softly, "See you tomorrow, Riku."

He nodded his good-bye as he too, readied for his departure. That's when he heard the scuffle coming from outside the school building. With a quick dash and leap, he was outside and confronting the scene. Three girls stood before Naminé. One was spitting insults while the other two pulled at Naminé's most precious treasure: Her sketch pad. "Geez, these drawings suck," the first girl said as she torn it from the spiral binding. "I'll be nice and throw it out for you,"

"No wait!" Naminé pleaded, "that's a gift for my—,"

"This isn't a gift," the second girl stated as she grabbed the paper from her "friend". "It's a curse." And with that, she tore it into four pieces before scattering them in front of the crumbled Naminé. They laughed as they watched tears fall from her eyes.

"Oi," Riku said, stepping in beside the crying beauty. "Piss off you insecure freaks."

His harsh eyes intimidated them and soon they dispersed and disappeared down the hill. Riku's eyes quickly softened as he rested a hand on Naminé's shoulder. "Hey, are you hurt?"

"N-not physically," she trembled.

He crouched beside her and gently tugged at the picture. "Maybe we can tape it,"

"Thanks, but…it wouldn't be the same." She said, forcing a grateful smile.

He glanced down at the four pieces and held his breath. It was a picture of himself, staring aimlessly out the window with his hand rested on his chin. His eyes were distant as he stared up at the cloud-filled sky. He blinked and looked up at her with red cheeks. She looked down, embarrassed. "I thought…it really captured who you were,"

He smiled gently, "It does. Simply because it's how you see me."
