"He...he....HE asked me..ME...to the prom?!", thought Sora outloud.
Earlier that same day, Yamato Ishida, THE Yamato Ishida, had asked her to the prom. She couldn't believe it, a loner like her...got asked to the prom by the most popular guy in school. It was almost like....a miracle to her. She was just in the library, reading up on telekinesis...a skill she could use since she was a small child. At the age of 16, she could still use it now. It allowed her to move objects with her mind, anything that could move, she could move. And the next thing she knew, Yamato walked up to her and blurted the question out. It scared her so she ran away, her admirer looking on in confusion.

She wasn't sure if she wanted to go, after all, what if it was a trick? But then again, what if it wasn't? She sat there pondering for a few moments, the TV was blaring out in the background, but she wasn't paying any attencion to it. Suddenly she heard the doorbell ring, it distracted her thoughts and startled her. She turned down the volume on the TV and got up to answer the door. She pushed the handle down and opened the door cautiously. It was Yamato! Her heart skipped a beat.
"Hi Sora! So this is where ya live, huh?"
"What are you doing here?" Her voice sounded anxious and scared.
"Well can I come in?"
"No"
"Why not?"
"Er...Momma....Mommas resting"
"Oh, well, straight to the point huh?"
"What do you want?"
"Well about the prom...I wasn't joking around or anything earlier ya know...I really want you to go with me!"
"..........no.."
"Oh c'mon Sora! Your the first girl I asked, I've had a crush on you for a long time...."
Her heart skipped another beat and she felt faint. She had a minor crush on him back in the 7th grade..but it was nothing serious.
"...Ok....I'll come"
"Ooh then I'll pick...." and the door slammed in his face.
"Okay..." he said intimatly.

She rushed back inside and sat on a chair, her back straight as it could have possibly have been and her heart beating at double her normal pulse rate. All she could think about was why Yamato - the most popular guy in the school and maybe even the whole teen scene around that area - would want to go to the prom with her? She was a loner by heart and the others made fun of her; putting poison ivy in her sheets at camp, putting roaches in her desk at school, endless torment during gym if she happened to miss a goal or failed to hit something - which was frequent, she wasn't very good at sports.
"Why.....oh why..."
