What If luck of the Irish

A lot of times, in life people run across things that make them say what if.

Joshua O'Hagan was no exception.

With the annoying sounds buzzing from his alarm clock Joshua groaned at the thought of waking up (You see Joshua had a normal life, a life where you have to wake up at five be at work at six and you didn't get to leave work until three in the afternoon.) he looked up at his crappy splotched white ceiling for a minute thinking of why he bothered with his life, shitty apartment and lousy bag boy job. As if on auto pilot Joshua's body got out of bed and went to the bathroom to take care of its natural functions. As he began to get ready Joshua began to try to find positives in his life. He thought of a few such as that smelly asshole boss of his was likely to die soon either from his poor health choices or from the various loans he owed to the shady guys at the dog track. This was often a topic him and Kathy would talk about (Kathy being his girlfriend), that's another good thing he had going for him she was beautiful and willing to listen. The other was tonight was his night with the guys if he could make it through work everything would be okay.

Joshua finished getting ready and went down to his car port to start his beat up rusty red truck and, wouldn't you know his luck the damn thing wouldn't start. Joshua knowing he was going to be late gave in and decided to take the bus. As Joshua walked to the bus stop (which was a good six blocks from his house) he couldn't stop thinking about the air conditioner and getting out of the sweltering heat he had to endure this mid-summer. He hated walking to work in the heat because he just knew the second he showed up at work his boss would comment on his body odor as if he had room to talk the guy probably couldn't spell hygiene let alone understand it, as he rounds the corner to the bus stop he sees a short sloppy drunk man stumbling on to the bus and notices him drop some change. Joshua tries to stop the man but the driver closed the door to the bus and takes off. Joshua bends over to pick up the change and counts it, a dollar and forty three cents the second he stuck the change in his pocket He hears someone honking their horn he looks up and Kathy is sitting there in the truck (hurry up and get in!) she yells.

How did you get the truck to start josh asks her as he climbed inside the truck (babe it was so weird I got out to the car port and went to try to start it when some drunk guy with a funny accent came up and he asked if I needed some help and he got in, the damn thing started right up.
