Waverly was so hurt. How could Nicole do this? How could the one person she had trusted most betray her like this. Waverly had told no one, not even Wynonna. But she had trusted Nicole with this secret, to bring her the results unopened, and to be by her side every step of the way. Waverly looked across the cold and barren room to the bed where they had made love for what had seemed like the hundredth time since the first time. Through her pain, she managed to crack a small smile as she remembered how gentle Nicole had been with her during their first time. "Wait Waverly... Are you sure?" Waverly had smiled. Of course she was sure! Who could be unsure about getting love from such a tall and sexy woman?! Waverly had assured Nicole that it was a go and they had fallen onto the bed kissing and groping like they had never grabbed anything other than the other's warm bodies.

But that was over now.

Nicole hadn't meant to hurt her and Waverly knew it but how could she ever feel the same when she knew that the only person who had never lied to her was now just another liar. "Nicole are you fucking serious?!" She had screamed through the phone. Nicole kept her same calm yet guilty attitude, "Babe you know I only did it because I love you and I don't want you to get hurt. You're the most amazing person I've ever met and you deserve to be an Earp more than anyone". Hearing the fact that she wasn't an Earp be confirmed yet again, Waverly's eyes welled up and she hung up the phone.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes I'm sure".

"Okay I'm sorry for asking so much I just don't want you to give yourself up to me if you're not ready".

"I've been ready for so long".

Waverly retreated from her room and back downstairs, walking sluggishly as if she didn't know the homestead at all anymore. All of surroundings seemed fake and embedded in lies. "This is where mama and daddy raised me" she said, except she was lying to herself. Ward hadn't been her dad at all. In fact, he had resented her like she had been just an outcast stranger in a house full of locals. Her phone vibrated. It was Nicole. "Please text me back Waves! Let me make this right!" She couldn't make it right. Not until Waverly was ready to let her. Not until she figured out who she was. Why she was.
