One shot after the deaths of Tosh and Owen

Jack and Gwen walked into the bar across from the Torchwood hub. Jack ordered them both a stiff drink, which they downed together. They sat in silence for a moment, broken only by Jack ordering more drinks from the bar tender. There were still tears in Gwen's eyes. Jack pulled her close, wrapping his free arm around her. She rested her head on his shoulder.
"I still can't believe they're gone."
They downed their drinks and Jack softly kissed the top of Gwen's head.
"I know, Gwen. I know."
Gwen snuggled into Jack's chest, and they silently cried together, supporting each other, holding each other, calming each other.
"Will Ianto be OK?"
Jack half smiled.
"He's gone to spend some time with his family. I think he'll be OK. Eventually. We all will."
They downed a third round of drinks, and Jack whispered into Gwen's ear.
"Stay with me tonight, Gwen. I don't want to be alone tonight."
Gwen nodded, still in a daze, and allowed Jack to lead her back to the hub. They settled down on the sofa opposite Toshiko's old work station. This caused a new surge of tears from Gwen, who snuggled into Jack's chest as he stroked her hair, comforting her. They spoke softly to one another.
"I don't think I can do this anymore, Jack."
"You can, Gwen. I know it feels hopeless right now, but things will get better. I promise you."
She didn't speak for a moment. Her mobile started ringing, but before she could answer it, Jack had fished it out of her pocket and had answered it for her.
"Rhys? Yeah, it's Jack. Listen, Gwen's crashed out in the hub, and after the day we've had, I thought it best to leave her be. Yeah, she'll be fine, you have my word. I'll drop her at home in the morning. OK, I'll tell her when she wakes up. Yeah, I'm sorry too. Bye."
Jack pressed the end call button and switched the phone off before Gwen could react.
"Rhys says hi."
Jack half smiled. Gwen opened her mouth to argue, but Jack cut across her.
"We need each other tonight, Gwen. Even if we don't say anything. Even if we just sit here together all night. Rhys knows that, Gwen. He knows we need to be with each other. He'll be fine. Just, stay with me, Gwen. Please."
Gwen nodded. She understood. She needed her Captain. He needed his Gwen. She settled herself on the sofa better, her head on Jack's chest as he lay beside her. He stroked her hair softly as she started to fall asleep. He said a silent prayer for Owen and Toshiko as he watched her sleep, tears falling silently down his cheeks. At least he had his Gwen.
