Giriko POV

I was freezing my ass off! I was bundled in my coat and all my winter gear, doing my best to keep my damn nuts from freezing and shattering against each other. Apparently, working for Arachne wasn't as glamorous as I had been led to believe. Sure, she was hott, but that bod wasn't doin' jack shit to ward off the cold of winter.

I was pacing the main hall or whatever the hell it was called. Arachne was up in her web, fan hiding most of her face as usual as that damn little bug worked on that...
computer?...machine?...device...

Whatever.

"Ah, you're back already," Arachne said suddenly.

My attention turned to the soldiers that came in, hauling some prisoner with them.

My jaw dropped as they shoved the man to the ground, his arms tied behind his back, though his legs were still free.

That damn monk!

He looked up at Arachne, his face blank and for once, he had those damn earbuds out.

"Welcome, Justin Law," Arachne smirked, lowing her fan. "Hope my men weren't too rough on you."

Justin smirked back, resting on his knees. "Well, I am a prisoner, after all, am I not?"

"Hmm," She hummed. "Giriko, take him downstairs. Be sure he's under lock and key."

I growled. "Can't you send the bug?"

"Don't talk back to Lady Arachne!" The parasite barked.

I just rolled my eyes and went over to the monk, hauling him roughly to his feet before dragging him off.

oooo

I was irritated to no end. First I was freezing and now I have to hang around this dipshit. On the plus side, he had yet to say anything.

"Cold, huh?"

Damn. I chose to ignore him.

He didn't take the hint and went on. "I like the winter. I always lived where it was warmer, so I never got to enjoy the snow. Kinda nice."

God, he's such a chick.

"Do you like the snow?"

"No. Snow sucks. Now shut the hell up." I stated coldly.

"I had no idea you hated eveything," the blonde mumbled unhappily.

"I don't hate everything!" I stopped dragging him, glaring.

"Oh?"

"Yeah! I hate you! That's it! Everything else is just a minor irritation!"

"...You hate me?"

"Yes!"

"...Why?"

I paused. Why did I hate him? Because...Because he pushed me too much! Because he always spoke down to me, acting like he was so much better than me! I had put up with that for way too long! No way I was gunna tolerate it from someone like him! "I hate you because you're a filthy traitor and yet you act like your better than everyone else!"

He stared at me blankly for several moments. I ground my teeth together. Stupid monk.

"I'm not better than everyone else." What? "I'm worse than you."

...What?

"...Worse than me?" No one had ever claimed to be as bad as me, let one worse than me. It was almost...a relief...

"I worked really hard to be a good person. I became a death scyte...I found faith...but I kept straying. I kept getting lost." His eyes glazed over now. He looked to the floor with a mixture of disappointment and sadness writen on his face.

It was the same look I had for years during my childhood...I almost...sympathized.

"I'm...sorry if I made you feel...unimportant."

I shook myself to my senses and frowned. "Yeah right." I scoffed. "If you felt so damn bad, then why try to push me like that?"

He shrugged. "To get your attention..." He smiled at me. "If I wanted you dead, I would've killed you already."

"You wanted...my attention?" I felt my face heat up a little at that.

He just smiled wider. "Weren't you leading me to my cell?"

I blushed and growled, pulling him along again, though I was sure to be more gentle.

Maybe he wasn't so bad...
