Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Harry Potter related details in this entire story. If I did, I'd make cash off it. Duh.
A/N: This is my first story, and it is terribly depressing. Unfortunately. R&R!!!
Grave Situation
It was the middle of the night in Godric's Hollow Cemetery. One lone figure was making its way through the velvety darkness to the very heart of the mass of ornate headstones of residents past.
The shadow seemed to be that of a girl with bushy hair. Very bushy hair. Another figure appeared at her side with a faint crack. The first collapsed next to one of the stones.
"Come on 'Mione! It's not good beating yourself up over this! What's done is done and there is nothing you can do to change it.", one of the figures said consolingly to the other.
"Ginny, you aren't in any way upset by this? You dated him for Pete's sake!" the other shouted as she turned back.
"Of course I am! I'm just not killing myself over it!" Ginny snapped.
"The only one he couldn't find, and it was staring him in the face." Hermione said as she lit her wand to read the inscription on the ominous stone slab.
Harry James Potter
Loving friend,
Devoted hero
"Why couldn't we see it? How could we have been so stupid?" Hermione said more to herself than Ginny, "This stupid little trinket caused so much pain." She said as she squeezed a small metallic object until it nearly broke her skin.
"Slytherin's locket. Small but deadly." Ginny said quietly, "First Dumbledore, now Harry. What are we going to do?"
"What can we do? It's over, he won. But, we should go. Goodbye Harry." Hermione admitted quietly as she got up.
"We'll miss you" Ginny said as she began to turn around, "It's weird, but I can still feel him. It's like he's still here."
"The ones we still love never really leave us. And look on the bright side, to the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure." Hermione said as she and Ginny turned to leave.
The starred quotes were said by Dumbledore in Sorcerer's/ Philosopher's Stone.
