Dedication: This was written for Maddy as per a request on her part. She wanted an alternate ending for Michael and Sara in episode 2.10. Plus, she's just an all around sweet person with some pretty amazing graphical skills and the nicest personality I've seen in a long time. She makes fandom fun, a lot.

Concrit: Please read, reivew and give me freedback. Constructive concrit is always welcomed, however, flames are not.

Disclaimer: I do not own the any of the characters, the plot/storylines and I make no claims to them. They belong to their respective owners. I'm just a fan inuldging herself in her own imagination.

It is different now, the sound and feel of the gravel beneath her feet as she walks back in the direction of the motel. She wonders what he will say when he opens the door to find her standing on the other side, unable to follow through with her initial plan of leaving. Her legs are shaky, the residual feeling of familiar trust issues still weighing her mind down as she lifts her hand and timidly knocks in a way so as not to draw much attention to herself or the man on the other side of the door.

Fifteen seconds and she can hear the soft sound of his feet shuffling across cheap carpet, thirty and she's swallowing hard, then finally one full minute later she finds herself staring back into those dark soulful eyes that she'd only tried to convince herself she could walk away from only moments before. Of all the moments Sara had feared in life, this was the one that she wanted to get right more than anything.

"Sara."

Her name fell from his lips as she stepped closer to him, her arms instinctively reaching out without thinking or over analyzing as she presses her body against his in one long slow side, resting her head against his chest her tears soaking the thin white t-shirt he's wearing.

"I didn't want to be alone, so you get one more day."

He wants to say thank you, but he doesn't. Instead he steps back away from the door bringing her with him and closes it so as not to draw any attention to them. His breath is warm against her ear, as he exhales in soft low breath relieved she came back. He presses his lips to the side of her head as he wraps his arms around her, holding her tight against him thankful neither one of them will be alone now.

"Sara. I'm glad you came back."

He wants to say more, but he doesn't. For now, this is enough because this is her way of telling him it has to be.
