What if every time you looked into the mirror you were reminded that you were just a shadow of someone else. That you were never meant to exist, that you weren't supposed to be here. That's how I felt every time I looked into the mirror-like water. Waiting for the hero to come around just so he could destroy me. Just so I could fade into nothingness.

Forever trapped inside a small room with nothing but a small island and a dead tree with water and fog surrounding me constantly. Seven years I endured this. Seven years of pain, loneliness and boredom. For what?

For what I was created to do.

I was created for a purpose, my destiny already decided for me. Filled with the darkness and the memories of someone else. Everything about me a darker, shadowy version of someone meant to save the world.

My purpose, my destiny was to utterly destroy the hero and all the hope he carried with him. If I succeeded the world would be plunged into darkness, whereas if I failed the world would remain in the light.

I stood and turned to face the door. I've been hearing the hero make his way slowly through the temple all day. I listened as he turned the key in the final lock. The door opened and he walked in, sword in hand. Ready for what he was about to face.

He was so different than me. So much color, green tunic, bright blue eyes, and blonde hair, compared to me who was different shades of shadowy black except for my blood red eyes and my pale almost white skin. I grinned, glad that he was here to end this.

Now was the time. The battle would decide our fate and that of the world. Neither of us had a choice. We knew what we had to do. This was our destiny; this was what I was created and he was born to do. This was the battle. This was the end for one of us. This was the end of me.

AN: What do you all think? If you like it I'll add more. If not then I'll just keep it as a oneshot. Maybe.
