I relaxed aware of the twenty minutes I still had untill my stop. I could feel every bump as the bus driver chugged along the the highway at a rediculisly fast speed. I wished I would've taken my assistantce offer of a drive to work. Daze totaled her car and insisted I let her use mine on account of her 'important' meeting today. I gave in sometime after she spent two hours pouting in front of the T.V. Ever sense she got into that wreck this is the way I wanted it to be. She should'nt be riding the bus alone now-a-days. My thoughts reverted back to Story. She was walking down the sidewalk alone right about now I imagined. I was seeping with guilt and the thought of getting off the bus to find her crossed my mind.. But I could'nt be late for work, not today I thought selfishly. Two years ago I could've went and got Story and then rose a cab to work. Now nobody drove cabs in fear of picking up a montiepel.
We sit here and hope for things to get better, but they only seem to get worse. Are the montiepels really helping us out? Or are the they helping themselves. Considering where they came from I can't say I blame them for being upset with us. Our mistakes ruined their lives.. then again they would have, and somewhat did.. do the same thing. They would'nt exist without us.
Climbing off the bus I saw stella standing next to the Blue sign reading 'Bus Stop'. She took a long drag of her cigarette before she stomped it out with her Olivia Newton looking heels. She had on a black dress which highlighted her curves. Her hair was up in curls and the tiny accent of make-up on her face made her look far more lovelier then before.. If thats possible..
"Hey you!"Her voice was flat and casual. I just stood and stared.
"Uhh.. Don't I look nice." She did a spin right in front of me on this L.A. Sidewalk. A few of the men around us lowered their glasses.
"Hmm. Lovely." I started to walk forward. I had a ten minute walk to the office. Today was'nt a very good day to be late. She followed. Scooting along behind me.
"I'm having trouble keeping up!" She said. Then after thirty more seconds complained "You're being awfully rude for somebody who pretended to know me!" I stopped.
"I did'nt pretend."
"Where to you know me from then?" She put her hands on her hips.
"I don't know! How did you know I would be riding the bus?"
"Tuche." She smirked and walked in a circle around me apparently to gain back her dominince.
"Where is it you're going, needing to be so dressed up?"
"I have a meeting."
"With who?"
"Lord Torgi-.. none of your bussiness."
"Lord Torgin you say? A montiepel? Hmm. Well apparently this is my bussiness." I was trying to appear to be as witty as her.. so far it was'nt working out.
"What makes you say that?" Her smirk returned.
"Well you're here with me instead of at your meeting.. I nigoshiate with him daily.. apparently you want something."
"I do." She had an unreadable look on her face. In any other circumstance I would think she was in deep thought but you could see right through her act of innosense.
