Hey boy, what you crying for? It'll be okay in the end. And if this life doesn't give you the love you expect, there's always the next.

"You were never meant to exist, Roxas."
That's when he found himself looking for her. Namine, she said was her name, but to him she was his truth, his liberator. He needed her, wanted her, breathed her because she was the only one theonlyone who seemed to understand that part of him that wanted more than he had, that had memories he didn't. Somehow, she knew that he felt that he'd been dropped into existence suddenly, like destiny hadn't planned for him to be there, and had to change things as it went along.
He was right. He wasn't supposed to be playing darts with Hayner, so maybe that's why the board had only come with one set. They only needed one set, because no one else would play until Roxas had come along, and whoever was in control of this madness hadn't foreseen it and couldn't change it. Maybe that's why there wasn't enough room to sit next to one another on the benches, or why the combo deal was for three ice creams and not four.
Namine knew this and she knew why. She'd yet to tell him, thanks to that…that…man who disappeared with her, but somehow she knew it all and so did he. Sora. It had everything to do with Sora. Namine knew him; she'd drawn him, along with his friends. There was…there was an island, and a key, and a princess, and a betrayal. He felt it all, like Sora was calling to him, but he didn't know Sora. Namine did, and Namine knew all the answers.
He needed to talk to her, to understand, to be next to her because she already could understand. Namine was his only lifeline, his only support, and the only thing keeping him from committing himself for his preposterous notions. But Namine was like him, he realized, stuck in this world that wasn't ready for them and hadn't quite rewired itself for their existence. They weren't meant to exist. They weren't meant for happiness, for love, for need. They weren't meant at all.

He was a part of Sora. Namine was a part of Kairi. Sora and Kairi were a part of one another. They were entwined in these destinies that weren't theirs, in these emotions that couldn't be theirs, but somehow were even though they weren't meant for any of this. But, somehow, he could feel her when she got close. He was dormant, nonexistent, until Namine was around. And, with Sora and Kairi as their other halves, they were always together.
It wasn't Roxas's body against Namine's, or his lips upon hers, but it was pretty close. And for two people who weren't meant to exist, who weren't meant for futures, close was good enough for them.

First blurb belongs to Anna Nalick and her song 'Soldier'.
I used to love Roxas/Namine, but I haven't done much on them in a while. They're a sweet couple; maybe I'll do more soon. This thing is too short.
Inspired by the aforementioned song.
I'm taking requests, so pile them on and I'll see what I can do.
Critique me, I'm a review whore.
