His breathing was shallow. His end was at hand. She gently placed her hand over his heart and gave him some more time, time to be with her, the Evenstar.
He was a good king this Aragorn Ellassar. He had lived a long blissful life some few had known.
She looked around the hall she was in, the House of the KingsIt was a soft mournful grey with black accents. The only accommodation was the Death Bed where the king lied on and by his side his faithful queen as beautiful as when he first saw her, holding his hand. Their family and friends left giving the two lovers their last moments together.
"'I speak no comfort to you, for there is no comfort for such pain within the circles of the world.'"
"For if this is indeed, as the Eldar say, the gift of the One to Men, it is bitter to receive," Replied the Evenstar.
"'So it seems," he said. "But let us not be overthrown at the final test, who of old renounced the Shadow and the Ring. In sorrow we must go, but not in despair. Behold! We are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory, Farewell!'" He said, then whispered one last time, "I see her, she has come to take me away, Núruainu named Séreainu, Angel of Peace. Farewell!"
Séreainu spoke to him then as she grasped his wrist, "You time has come Aragorn King, son of Arathorn to take your place in the halls of your forefathers."
He bowed his head slightly and closed his eyes as Séreainu; the Angel of Peace took his sprit away to the Halls where all mortals come to dwell.
The Evenstar twice called her beloved's name but he slept on. She left then in grief to dwell in the home of her mother's kin in Lothlorien, there in the passing of winter did Séreainu came to deliver her to the Halls of Men, where she will dwell unto the changing of the world. And with her passed the tale of Elves for no more will the Fair Folk be remembered by mortal men.
It was, indeed, a time to grieve.
Behold! We are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory, Farewell!'"
Kinda choppy but still a quoted from Appendix A, page 389, The Lord of the Rings; The Return of the King.
