The idea for this one shot just popped into my head while I was thinking of ideas for the next chapter for One More Duet. Written for the Quartie Ficathon

I don't own Glee or the briefly mentioned Bones

"Alright Quinn, your blood sugar seems to be almost back to normal, I think that you can be released in a few days if no complications arise." A sulky and tired Quinn Fabray did not answer her doctor; but she gave him an evil eye while staring at his white puffy ear hair. Finally seeming to get her telepathic messages he trotted out of her puke-green hospital room so bouncily as if he had just told someone that they won the lottery. Quinn thought back to two days ago when she had woken up in the emergency room surrounded by three old men, a half dozen med students, her mother, and Mr. Schuster. According to old-man-with-too-much-nose-hair she had fallen into a Diabetic Coma during school and was rushed to the hospital. Great. Just one more thing for the school to terrorize her about. The buzz of her phone interrupted her dark thoughts.

Artie: Hey Quinn, I was wondering if you are feeling better and are up for a visitor?

Quinn smiled, she and Artie had only been dating for about two weeks, but she knew that this relationship was special. She picked up her phone (in it's new purple case that Artie had helped pick out) and texted someone for the first time in two days.

Quinn: That would be really nice Artie. It's getting kind of lonely here.

Artie: Be right there : )

Quinn could not believe her luck, here she was sitting in the hospital looking like crap and yet someone who she really liked was coming to see her. When she called Santana last night all she got was "Getting naked with Puckerman. Bye."

"Hey Quinn." A soft voice from her doorway broke her gaze away from old episodes Bones playing from her awkwardly angled TV.

"Hi Artie, come in, I'll turn this off, I know how you hate seeing blood." Artie laughed as he rolled over to her bed.

"I missed you." He whispered in her ear before kissing her on the cheek.

"Artie! The door is wide open, and we are in a hospital for crying out loud! This is probably the least romantic place I have ever been in." She pushed him back with mock anger, but a silly smile creped up on her face. It quickly fell when she saw Artie looking at the IV that was next to her bed. "Insulin," She said with a growl. That one word would hang over the rest of her life like Eor's cloud.

"Quinn, if you need someone to talk to about it, I'm here." Artie tried to reach out his hand to hers, but she quickly drew it back.

"No, Artie, I hate to break it to you, but you have no clue what I'm going through right now." As soon as she saw the hurt look on his face she realized what she had done. "Artie! I'm so sorry, it's just my stupid blood sugar is making me say stupid stuff, please just erase everything that I've said since you have arrived."

"Quinn, it's ok, I was like this after my accident, no one is in a correct state of mind after hearing life changing news." Quinn nodded numbly while intertwining their fingers.

"Hey, Artie, I hope you don't mind me saying this, but I guess this means that we are both freaks now." Artie laughed and reached out to stroke her golden hair with his free hand.

"Freaks to outsiders maybe, but you will always be the same to me."

"Artie, I know that we have only been dating for two weeks, and it might be all the meds that I'm on right now, but I think I love you." Quinn whispered as she put his hand on his face and leaned in to kiss him.

"I think I love you too Miss Fabray, and this is one part of the conversation that I am not going to erase."
