Written to cure writer's block! Poetry definitely isn't my forte! (Though reviews are welcomed to make it better!)
A short poem from Tohru's POV, about her mother, though it could be interpreted as
numerous other POV's – such as Hatori's, for example.
Disclaimer: I don't even own a banana, let alone Fruits Basket.

Goodbye
Goodbye is just a word.
Just a sound said or heard.
They say the parting isn't forever,
That memories remain to treasure;
But memories don't stop me missing you,
And faded memories are not true.
>
Goodbye means an eternity alone,
The pain of parting heavy as stone,
The sense of a void that cannot be filled,
And of emotions that cannot be stilled.
No mere word can start to convey,
The sadness that I feel today.
>
Goodbye is merely a token,
A word to ease pain woken,
Said in an instant and gone,
Leaving only an empty heart to long.
Yet to me 'goodbye' means regret too.
Regret that I couldn't say goodbye to you.
