Tale's End
Softly spinning a tale; through time
a story is cloaked in hidden truths.
Living in longing; this man denies himself
an easy path of selfish pleasure.
Gorgeous green eyes close; another life is
lost through mistakes made by choice.
Resentment, remorse felt by a fool
who held a mask, rather than a sword.
He dreams of rebirth; of a day never
to reach history. Of a fantasy.
To hold and see straight black hair
and green eyes on a face with no scar.
This is a poem describing the pain that Severus feels whenever he remembers the mistakes he's made. He wishes that Lily had never died; he wished she had loved him instead. He wished he had had a son with her, a son who would never see and experience the horrors and pain that Harry has. So to make amends; he spins his tale and denies himself of any happiness.
