Lightning in the Moonlight
Harry sat under an oak tree doing his Transfiguration homework. Valentines day was coming up and he was not going to wait until the last minute to get Luna something. Just then, someone came up from behind him, and covered his eyes. "Guess who?" squeaked an all to familiar voice. "OH, I dunno. Olivia maybe?" Harry laughed and tried to play along, but she just would not go away. Olivia Wood. His own groupie/obsessed fan.
"Oi! Potter! Little sister fancies you?" Oliver Wood's voice rang through the courtyard like church bells, causing everyone to look at them. Harry turned beat red. "Who? Me?" Olivia smiled wide. She wasn't joking. Did she honestly think it was a secret?
Everyone else had looked away. Except Luna, sitting about three yards away. She looked half confused and half annoyed. "Don't worry about her." He mouthed in her direction. "I love you." She mouthed back, and Harry did the same.
Harry woke up the next morning groggily, and dressed himself quickly. He headed downstairs, only to find Ron and Hermione on the couch. Some study session. He thought, still half asleep as he headed out of the common room, and out the painting into the halls.
Trudging down the stairs, he stumbled into the Great Hall, only to find Olivia there, trying to stop him. He walked right past her, not wanting to talk or deal with her this morning. "Harry, wait!" She caught up with him, and grabbed his arm. "Come with me."
She pulled him into an empty classroom, and kissed him. It took him a second to realize what was happening. He quickly tried to push her away, but failed. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" She still had him pinned up against the wall. "What?" She looked confused. "I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!"
At that precise moment, Luna walked in. Harry didn't see her, so he didn't know how long she had been standing there. Harry realized he still had not been let go of Olivia's embrace. "Well, Olivia asked me to meet her here, because she had to show me something. I think she's shown me enough." She turned on her heel and ran down the hallway, trying to bite back the tears she so desperately wanted to cry.
She could hear Harry panting behind her, trying to catch up. "Luna, wait!" he bellowed down the hall. She kept on running, so he chased after her. At the end of the hall, she stopped, looking back at him; he could see her bloodshot eyes.
Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him. "Harry? What's going on?" He heard Hermione's voice behind him. He turned around, and it was all he could do to keep from crying. It didn't work. Her eyes got wide at first, and then she looked concerned. "I screwed up everything, that's what's going on." "Oh, Harry. I'm so sorry."
