Authors Note: Happy Fathers Day! This was a story I wrote with the help of my amazing daughters Bri and V (they gave me the idea when they were two, with what they did for their father on fathers day). I hope you guys will like this.
It's about 10 in the morning by the time I woke up. It's Fathers Day. The only day Hermione lets me sleep in on. So when I finally get the strength to go down stairs I am greeted by a big mess in the kitchen. There is paint everywhere. All over Roses highchair, the counters, the floor, and even on the ceiling. All of a sudden I hear the pitter patter of little feet. Rose.
"DADDY!" My beautiful daughter is covered in paint. Her hands, her face, her shirt, her shorts, and her legs. I squat down to her level and ask, "Rosie, what have you been up to?"
"She's been painting." My 6 month pregnant wife comes into the room, she has two little hand prints on her round stomach, indicating 'Rose Was Here'.
"Ah you have been have you Rosie? What, may I ask, have you been painting? Besides yourself, that is." She took her hands out from behind her back and handed me a paint covered in just as much paint as her. "I made a card for you, daddy! See it's pretty!"
"Oh yes Rosie. It's pretty just like you. And very colorful too." Rose lifts her paint covered hands and squished my cheeks together.
"Now daddy's pretty too! Right mummy?" Rose said taking her hands off my cheeks and clapped them together.
"Of course your daddy's pretty Rosie. Now why don't you go back into the bathroom and get in the tub."
"O-Tay. I love you daddy."
"I love you too, Rosie." With that Rose ran off down the hall and into the bathroom.
"Well happy fathers day, daddy." Hermione said to me as she closed in and wrapped her arms around my neck.
"Oh yes. But I do believe next years will be better. Seeing as I will have a baby boy to celebrate with too." I replied wrapping my arms around her waist. These were the moments I loved. The little ones where there was peace and quiet, and not a care in the world. But this wouldn't be heard of from Rose. I shrill scream of "MUMMY!!" Emerged from the bathroom, and with a sigh Hermione unwrapped her arms from my neck, gave me a kiss, and walked down the hall to where my baby girl was getting cleaned up. This was life.
Authors Note: Again happy fathers day! The word 'O-Tay' was a word my daughter Bri would say so she wouldn't be the same as her sister in saying 'Okay'. I hoped you liked it and please review!
