A/N:

Hi everyone! I have been busy with a lot of stuff lately, and this silly sad oneshot came out. I know I have a lot of unfinished projects so if you have ideas or want me to continue with any of them, please let me know and if my muse gets some inspiration again, I'm sure the chapters will flow out of me again!

Read and let me know what you think!

He sunk down on his couch feeling as if someone had repeatedly tried to cut his heart out today. He sighed and forced tears back as he stared at the ceiling, staring into oblivion. His chest ached with raw pain. He had lost people before. He had seen many of his army buddy's fall at the hand of other snipers. He had feared for his partners life on more than one occasion. But never in his entire life had he felt this defeated, this alone. This sad.

He closed his eyes as he lied down on the couch, continuing his death stare at the ceiling. Flashes of the funeral went through his mind, forcing him to relive the whole damn thing. Standing in line as countless people came up to him and his family to tell him how sorry they were for his loss. How they felt for him. And that he should let them know when he needed their help. He had repeated the same 'Thank you for coming' over and over and over and over again until the words had lost all meaning to him. He remembered snapping at Parker as he wouldn't be quiet in church. Booth understood that Parker was too young and couldn't really sit still for over an hour. He had felt bad about it, but had lacked the energy to apologize to his son.

He remembered how all of his courage had left him as he had gotten up to read the eulogy. The last thing he could do.

"Oh Pops..." Seeley sighed out loud as tears formed in his eyes. 'How am I going to make it without you?' He was startled out of his thoughts as he heard the soft tapping of high heels on the hardwood floor as they approached him. He turned to the noise and calmed slightly.

"Booth? Seeley?" Temperance held out a glass of water and an aspirin to him.

He gratefully accepted them as he sat up straight.

She sat down next to him.

He put the pill in his mouth, took a sip of the cold liquid, swallowing the pill. As he settled on the couch again, she stopped him by putting her arm around his shoulder and pulling him closer. The first tear fell as he allowed himself to be wrapped in her warm, soothing embrace.

Tears formed in her eyes as she saw him fighting his back. "Seeley?" She spoke softly, not wanting to startle him. As he nodded his head against her chest, she continued. "It's okay to cry."

And so he did.

The End.
