"Do it."

Her voice wavered as she said it, but it did the job. The Joker's eyes became interested, but he kept the gun steady. Sucking in bravery she didn't know existed, Diane looked up to meet his eyes. "Well, you want to, don't you?"

If the rest of the banks' hostages didn't have their attention focused on the scene, they did now. Diane waited for him to do something, tell a bad joke, spin one of his inventive scar stories, but he didn't. He just kept listening. It was unnerving.

"C'mon, you wouldn't have a gun in your hand if you didn't wanna shoot me. You're that kind of guy. Go on!"

Taking no heed to the alarm bells going off in her head, she un- plastered herself from the wall and moved towards him. Kneeling before the clown, she pulled the collar of her shirt aside, exposing the skin over her heart. "Right there," Diane thumped her chest. "Just squeeze your finger." Still, he stayed, a smirk starting at the corner of his mouth.

What the HELL are you doing! This wasn't her at all. Diane was an introverted, quiet, average looking bank teller, who just wanted to go home and curl up on the couch after this psych got whatever it was he came in here for. And yet here she was, pulling shit out of her mouth and being all heroic. Or crazy. Probably the latter.

The Joker chuckled ( It was more of a cackle, but a quiet one) and put the gun back in its holster. "Sorry, girly. I'm a lot of things, but a suicide angel isn't one of them. However, I hafta say that was a fantastic, uh, performance, you gave. It had feeling. I like that."

The joker squatted down to Diane's level and gripped her chin, forcing her eyes back up to his. She jolted a little at this, but remained stoic. The Joker grinned as his inhuman tongue snaked out to where his scars began.

"It's actually really fascinating…"

Another voice suddenly rasped down from the ceiling. "Sorry to interrupt the entertainment."

Batman dropped down, his smoke black cape billowing. The Joker released Diane, a laugh starting in his throat. "Now you're here, it's just about to start!" Diane scuttled back to the corner, breathing heavily, and shut her eyes.

Her heart felt like there was a mad horse in her chest. What just happened? You could have died, you crazy fuck! Eventually, her breathing slowed and she ignored the scuffling, the screams, the raspy yelling, and the laughter. All she focused on was the nebula of black and colored spots forming in her eyes.

Well, wasn't that fun! This is my first story, so it's not the best. But then, it's fanfiction . I feel a bit strange, since I wrote this when I've never seen TDK, so hopefully I've been able, to capture the Joker and Batman through what I have seen in numerous Youtube clips. I might continue this, If I have the inspiration and positive feedback, so review telling me what you think! Hugs n' kisses.
