Christmas Cuddles

"Merry christmas, babe" Castiel planted a kiss on his boyfriend's nose.

"Merry Christmas," Dean smiled. "Maybe this could be a new holiday tradition?" He asked.

Curled up on the couch, the couple had spent the entire day marathoning reruns of old cartoons and drinking hot cocoa. Neither had a problem with it, really, as long as they were together. It wasn't exactly the traditional Christmas celebration, but it was all they had to work with. Cas' family had outcasted him for his homosexuality, and what little family Dean still had, had already made plans for that evening.

Dean pulled Cas a little closer into his embrace, "I love you," he whispered. "So, so much." He closed his eyes, trying to soak in the moment.

Castiel blushed and tried to look anywhere but the intense gaze of his beautiful boyfriend.

"Cas." Dean said.

"Hmm?" The angel mumbled, not even bothering to pry his eyes from the T.V. screen.

"Cas," Dean pleaded, "Babe, look at me."

"Yeah?" Castiel pulled his head up to look at Dean.

"You're my whole world." He started. "I can't imagine a life without you in it. A world without you isn't a world worth living in. When you're mad, I crumble. It fucking tears me apart when you're upset. You have my completely wrapped around your finger, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I guess what I'm trying to say is, Castiel Novak, will you marry me?"

Cas' mouth hung open in shock, surprise written on his delicate features.

"Umm... Y-yes," He grinned. "Yes, Dean, I'll marry you." And it was that exact moment that the memories overtook him. Good, bad, in between, ordinary, all of them came flooding back.

His and Dean's first kiss:

It was their first official date and they had decided to go see a movie. Cas, the clumsy fool, accidentally spilled his soda all over Dean. They ventured in the restroom together to get him cleaned up, and ended up sharing their first kiss in that dingy bathroom. Dean perched on the counter, Cas positioned between his legs.

Their first fight:

Dean was chatting with a beautiful redhead and Cas had gotten jealous. Dean tried to explain that she was just a friend, that she doesn't even swing for the same team. All logic was lost on the stubborn Angel, Cas wouldn't hear any of it. They didn't talk for nearly two weeks, and it nearly destroyed Dean. Cas was a mess, thank god Ellen forced Cas to at least give Dean a chance to explain himself, or they probably would've never gotten back together.

The time Cas brought home a puppy:

Dean almost kicked it across the room when he first saw it, running to perch himself on the kitchen counter. He stayed up there until Cas proved that the little canine couldn't possibly bring either of them harm.

The time Dean had been shot:

He was on a hunting trip with Sam and Bobby when Ruby ambushed them, she managed to get a couple of shots off before being contained, one finding its way to Dean's shoulder. Cas was worried sick, he never left Dean's side, his grip on the boy's hand never faltering.

The thought of all the future adventures overwhelmed Cas. He couldn't wait to live the rest of his life with Dean, with his Dean.

Castiel thought of the future lazy Saturday afternoons, the busy weekday mornings, the sex, the cuddles.

And he simply couldn't wait.
