A/N: Not much to say here. I overslept for class, so I'll be writing this instead. That's about all.
Disclaimer: I don't own Legend of Zelda. Whatever.
Silently, Link approached the crest of the hill. Removing his hood, he surveyed the land before him. He had to get to those buildings he saw in the distance before morning, or all would be lost. With a sigh, he began to run, his cloak streaming behind him. Dawn was not far off, and his pursuers would not be far behind it.
Trucas bent down to examine the tracks before him. They were only about half an hour old. They were gaining on him. At last, he had good news to tell the leader. He was not in a good mood, and surely would have punished Trucas if they were too far behind. Trucas let out a sigh of relief. He would not be spending time in the Pit anytime soon. Smiling, he headed back to camp to share what he had learned with the others.
Erevor groaned as he woke up. He looked around at his sleeping companions, Loraman and Arcrim. It was five years ago that they had been put in this prison. All Erevor had to say on the matter was that it was boring beyond all belief. How was it that he, who had once controlled the wind and skies, was trapped down here in this hellhole? It was all Trucas' fault. For the millionth time since he was first imprisoned, Erevor strained against his chains. For the millionth time, the wall groaned ominously as it bulged inward with the strain. Just thinking that name filled Erevor with blind rage. Well, he thought to himself, if that kid in the green tunic is half as good as he says he is, we'll be out of here soon. With a grim smile, Erevor settled back to wait for breakfast. Just another day in paradise.
Malon sat on top of the wall surrounding the ranch, gazing out over the horizon and waiting for Link to arrive. He had promised he would meet her tonight, but it was almost morning. Holding back tears, she sighed sadly. He always did this. He always forgot. Suddenly, she spotted a lone figure running toward the ranch. It was him! He had remembered! But wait, what was that large cloud of dust behind him? Oh no! Malon thought to herself as she realized he was being chased. Silently, Malon urged Link to run faster, but his pursuers were too quick. With a shrill whistle, Malon called for Epona. Jumping onto the horse's back, Malon vaulted over the wall and rode towards the running figure. "Link!" she called out. "Get on!" She slowed down just enough to allow him to climb up behind her, than galloped off towards home, the sun at their backs and the pursuers choking on dust.
Zelda stared out into the distance from her bedroom window, watching the sun rise. She was expecting a message from Lon-Lon Ranch soon. It would be from Link, telling her how his mission had gone. She fervently hoped that he had made contact with the three surviving warriors inside the prison at the capital of the neighboring country of Azok. If her premonition came true, as they usually did, those three would be essential for victory in the coming storm. Exhausted, she decided to go to bed. Mail could wait until she had some sleep.
