Carlos was in a daze. He was awake, but not really yet aware of his surroundings. At least, he wasn't aware of them until he was suddenly blasted with cold air, but soon followed by more heat.
He was about to roll over, planning on just returning to sleep, but a pressure appeared on his chest. It puzzled him. He was near-positive he hadn't done anything to cause the pressure to appear.
Slowly opening his eyes, Carlos was met by the sight of pitch blackness. It took him a second to remember that with sleep usually comes night, and usually following night was darkness. He waited for a second to see if his eyes would adjust more to the dark. And they did, his blue electronic clock on his bedside table offering some light in the room.
What Carlos discovered laying on him was a person. After staring for a second, still in a semi dazed state, Carlos concluded that it was Logan laying on him. "L-Loges?" Carlos asked, stiffiling a yawn.
Said person jumped ever so slightly and looked up at Carlos. "Hi." He whispered, and Carlos could hear a bit a fear in his voice.
"What are you doing?" Carlos' voice was thick and slow. His eyebrows were furrowed as he looked down at the pale boy laying against him, and his neck was starting to cramp at the odd position to look at him.
Logan laid his head back against Carlos' chest, hiding his face slightly from Carlos. "I...I had nightmare..." He whispered.
Carlos' mouth dropped ever so slightly. "Oh..." He trailed off. Now it made sense. Whenever Carlos had a bad dream, he'd go and climb into Logan's bed, so Logan was flipping the roles. "Do you want to talk about it?" Carlos asked, laying his head back down against his pillows, his neck burning in relief.
Carlos felt Logan shake his head, it gently rubbing against his chest. "Not right now. Maybe in the morning."
Carlos nodded, knowing Logan would take his silence as an agreement. Carlos let out a sigh, glad he could go back to sleep and comfort Logan at the same time. Logan nuzzled his head against Carlos' chest, also letting out a sigh. Carlos subconsciously brought a hand to Logan's hair, gently playing with it. Logan let out a light hum, which made Carlos smile.
It was probably 5 minutes later, and Carlos was just on the edge of sleep, when Logan spoke in a soft, hushed voice. "Thanks Carlos."
Carlos gently ruffled Logan's hair. "You're welcome Loges. Now, relax and try to get some sleep."
Carlos felt Logan nodded and shimmed himself higher, resting his head in the crook of Carlos' neck, Carlos' moved his hand from Logan's hair to wrap it around his shoulders. Carlos could feel Logan smile, which in turn made him smile. "G'night, Logie."
"Goodnight Carlos."
