The walls of the asylum stretched towards the azure sky, painted brilliantly with clouds and beams of sunlight reaching down to the Earth. The pale, aging building appeared to lean forth and threaten to collapse, giving an intimidating appearance to the solid stone formation. Despite the brightness of the day; the shadows cast wandered aimlessly from the base of the structure outwards, sprawling over the entire island, in some areas even reaching the surrounding Ocean.

The best word for it was terrifying, a solitary prison on a single island; in the middle of the Sea. Its contents were no less pleasant, the most dangerous and psychotic Firebenders restrained within the walls. It seemed as though it were a hand, reaching towards the world. At night, the moons played off it in an eerie silver glow, disturbing even the specialized guards who kept people out… and in.
The only dock on the island was made of powerful metal, impervious to the wear of the constant waves and weather. It was diminutive enough that only small, steam-powered two-man vessels could stop at it, so in the event of an escaped prisoner they had nowhere to go. It may have been described as an asylum, but it was little more than a filthy prison.
