Edward understood when his brother got his kids the cats, and when they wanted another dog after Den died. What he could not get is why there was a feathered beast in his house he did not know.

The thing was sitting right in front of the door and right after it saw him, it attacked

"QWACK!" He put his suitcase out to protect himself from it.

"WINRY! WHY IS THERE A DUCK IN THE HOUSE?" There was a crash and the kids came. Alex, Abby, and little Trish now 2 years of age.

Alex (Eight) Went to grab the duck while Abby (Six) called out loudly and Trish made extra noise along with them. Edward later that night got the situation explained to him by Winry and the kids.

"Abby found the little guy at the pond all alone and we decided to take him in and he's attached to the kids I can't separate them." Ed warily stared at the feathered beast that kept going after his toes.

"Can we keep him daddy?" Abby asked blinking her blue eyes dramatically.

"Yeah we named him Leopold!" Alex chimed in smiling the mini-me smile so much like Edwards.

Little Tricia from her highchair added to this by quaking loudly. Winry shrugged

"I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't mess in the automail."

Ed sighed, "Fine then but it stays out of my office as well."

The kids grinned with wide grins "Thanks dad!"

The fad with the duck faded fast though, as soon as fall came the duck disappeared either by Edward or by flying away they didn't know. But the dog was happy when the duck didn't chase it around anymore, the cats had stopped hiding in fear and even Winry was happy that she didn't have to clean up duck squat anymore off the floor.

This changed in the spring when Leo brought with him a flock...
