Unbreakable Love

Katniss never meant to hurt Peeta. But somehow she did. Katniss was very afraid he would never forgive her. She was very afraid this could be the end for them. She didn't want this. She wanted to live happily with Peeta and their kids.
Katniss walked in the beautiful grass. Her bare feet feeling the soft grass strands. She thinks about what happened and doesn't know if it will ever be fixed. Katniss watches as Peeta comes outside.
"Peeta! Come here!" Katniss calls out to him. Peeta keeps walking. Katniss runs after him. She comes close enough to him to reach out and tap his shoulder. Peeta turns around to face her.
"Peeta, listen. I'm so sorry." Katniss apologizes.
"Look, Katniss. I don't want your fake apologies! Since you want Gale, go get him! You don't love me! You love him!" Peeta yells. Katniss can see his anger and pain as she looks into his eyes.
"Peeta, please!" Katniss feels her eyes burning. A tear trickles down her cheek. "Peeta, I don't love Gale. Yesterday I hurt you very badly. I understand that. But you saw me pull away. Gale kissed me. I love you." Katniss starts to sob.
Peeta looks at her. "I love you too." Peeta lifts Katniss' head. He gently strokes her hair and stares deeply in her eyes.
"You know I always loved you, Peeta. That day you threw me the bread. I didn't know if it was just an act of kindness or if it was because you had feelings for me." Katniss says.
"That was my way of showing my feelings for you...I've loved you for a very long time, longer than you know." Peeta leans toward Katniss. As they kiss, it's like there are fireworks going off inside of them. They are reminded of the powerful love they have for each other.
"I've always wanted it to be us, Peeta. Not me and Gale." Katniss admits. Peeta stares into Katniss' eyes. "I wouldn't trade it for the world. You're the one for me and I love you with all of my heart."
"I've never felt this way about anyone else but you." Peeta admits. "And it's because of your beautiful personality, your beautiful heart, your beautiful smile, and your beautiful face that I'll never forget." Peeta says.
Katniss wipes her tears and grabs Peeta's hand. He wrapped his strong arms around her waist and pulled her towards him, surrounding her in his embrace. She returned the embrace wrapping her arms around his stomach, resting her cheek on his shoulder. In that moment they realized that they'd never let anything this stupid get in the way of their love for one another.
