*I don't own My Life as a Teenage Robot or its characters

A random fic I thought up last night. Hope you like!

The cat appreciation club ran late on this particular evening. Walking home late in a place like Tremorton usually didn't scream danger. However, Sheldon had felt a looming presence following behind him since Wizzly Boulevard. The gangly teen wished he had taken a taxi as the shivers of fright groped at him. He tried to shut out the fear by doing calculus in his head, whistling in morse that he wasn't afraid. If danger were to come, he was sure how Jenny would come.

Rustling of some nearby bushes made him look back once, though it was only Gilbert, the neighborhood stray. With a smile of happiness, he caressed the feline friend before continuing on his way. Only a few blocks more and he was home free. What he didn't know was he had given the looming figure enough time to catch up.

Pretty soon, he felt the hairs on his neck stand. Someone was right behind him, so he turned around to face his would be attacker. To his surprise it was a tall red head dressed in blue. She said nothing, but smiled with knowing, staring at him with familiarity. He blushed, as though in his heart he knew, but his mind was sheltered and terrified. It was this knowing look that gave her the opening needed allowed to wrap her arms around his neck, and take his breath with a kiss.

He felt a familiar hum on his lips, it sang at a frequency he almost recognized. Secret wishes were fulfilled thanks to this stranger, and they stood there shielded in the darkness from curious eyes. Having the moon as his witness, this beautiful girl had indeed kissed him, but he pushed her away in frustration. No matter how much he wished it could be her, he blamed his loneliness for trying to compare and justify such actions.

"I'm sorry," he frowned, "but I'm already spoken for. My heart belongs to someone else, so this never happened"

In response she nodded, and walked away. Whoever she happened to be, he had to thank her, for she reassured him of one thing, that his affections lied for only one femal; even if robotic. Resolution settled into his bones, that in the morning he would try again, even if it were to be a failure, to win her mechanical heart; because love endures all things, even random strangers of the night who steal kisses instead of lives.

She watched from a safe distance as he entered his home, safe from would be attackers. Waiting till he had fallen asleep, she knew she had done the right thing, if drastic. The gangly teen, whose loyal disposition rebuffed her unknown affections could be impressive when he tried to be. Chuckling from the absurdity of the encounter, she felt satisfaction, even if slightly annoyed.

The freckled geek thought over what the next day might bring, hoping it would be the day she said yes. Lying in bed, sleep started to take over. Through light sleep, he swore he heard loves warning sound, blasting off into the night. Perhaps he was dreaming. Tired and frustrated, he welcomed sleep since it wasn't tomorrow already.

"Goodnight Sheldon" whispered the red headed figure into the night.

Rocket propulsion boots could be heard if one listened carefully enough. And if you happened to glance at the precise moment, then you'd see the blue grin of mischief illuminated by the moon. Jenny traveled under the shadow of the night while carrying truths now known and reassured, disguised under the peal of exoskin.
