After the Fall of Danu Talis, a new empire followed its era. Thanks to the Queen, other empires also arose of the humani. Now, a millennium later, she is roaming in an abandoned Shadow realm somewhere far off. Virginia had to check whether there were no troublemakers here. The realm was in fact a volcanic island with lush gardens and trees. Yet, no clouds were ever present in the sky.
She was walking along the shore when she started sniffing to and fro. Burnt leaves. "Hello, old friend", came out a familiar voice. Virginia spun around to see Germain smirking at her. Oh, how she hated his grins.
"How long have you gone since that Empire's demise?" Virginia asked plainly without greeting him. "Just two hundred years. Not like you, planning on scouting realms like you wish to live up to 5000", Saint Germain snorted. She pouted, putting every force in her not to punch him. They remained silent for a while but still in eye contact. Virginia was the first to break the ice "I've heard that you've gotten much better with your Fire", she said steadily. "Yup. Practice makes perfect, and you've gotten even stronger", he gave a genuine smile.
"Aten and the other Elders taught me a lot!" Virginia exclaimed. True, Aten had become a good friend despite all the arguments and tussles.
"At least you're not burning anyone else now", she chuckled. She recalled that the Fire of Prometheus was very difficult for him to master.
"It's not funny you know. Now, I can easily call out my flames without burning my hands", he retorted.
"Ok! Chill will ya", Virginia smiled showing her white teeth. This man's temper remained the same. "Anyway, how's your wife?"
Germain's eyes widened. He met this immortal before he even knew of Joan. "Splendid. She's been with Sophie for a long while. By the way, who told you about her", he asked in a baffled state.
Virginia opened her mouth and replied slowly "Marethyu". "Sophie gave me the rest of the details when I asked her later on", she added hastily.
He nodded in return. He noted that both Virginia and Death had gotten along very well. "So then. How is the hook-handed puppeteer? Even Sophie isn't in that much contact as you are", he commented.
"To be frank, I can only say he's been gone off somewhere unknown since a very long time. True, he and I have had some epic adventures together", her face turned to the horizon of the sea. Her eyes were gleaming.
"A time traveller loves to wander off to the unknown", he remarked. It had only occurred to him whether or not they're in any relationship. Even Aten noted this.
"When you meet him again, do give him my regards", he bowed.
"Of course! Goodbye old friend", she repeated the gesture in return, then turned and walked on in the shore. Saint Germain looked straight on as he inhaled the fresh air tinged with musky sage.
