Being able to read minds can be very helpful. Plelphor had always thought this because he knew from first-hand experience just how useful reading someone's mind can be. Like when he looked through that fool Chaor to find out how to open the Doors of the Deep mind or that other time were he was able to learn the battle plans of the Overworld by looking into Tartarek's mind.

All his life, Plelphor thought that mind-reading was one of the best abilities a creature can have, only second to the ability to control other creatures. That is until he read the mind of a little, crazy, green scientist.

It was during a battle between the M'arillians and the Underworld.

Plelphor was never a brave creature on the battle field, so he only went after enemies who were considered to have very frail bodies. So when he saw a little creature wearing a lab coat, hiding behind some rocks, Plelphor was very confident he could take him down.

The creature's name was Ulmar. Plelphor only knew the scientist's name because he read some reports of the Underworlder's description. Since there wasn't many little green creatures wearing white lab coats and had their brain sticking out, it was safe to say that he was Ulmar.

Stealthy, Plelphor creped behind Ulmar who was watching the battle safely behind the rocks. To bad his hiding spot wasn't as safe as what he thought it was.

When he was close enough, Plelphore used his mind control to take over Ulmar's mind and turned him into his slave.

Since, Ulmar might know the Underworld's strategy for the battle they were currently in, Plelphor began to look through his memories. Before he could locate any useful information an image popped up in his head that made him loss his control over Ulmar and made him vomit.

"That was- that was just wrong!" he said, before vomiting some more.

Once, Ulmar regained his sense, he realized what happed to himself. He then began to laugh madly.

"Ha! I just a mind as brilliant as mine can't be controlled by the weak-minded such as you!" Ulmar laughed. His insane laughing attracted the attention of other M'arrillians who then began to fire attacks at him.

After being traumatized, Plelphor couldn't fight no more and retreated before any enemies could attack him.

Plelphor learned that day that the ability to read minds could be harmful to the victim and the caster.

Even after they had lost the war, the image of Ulmar's mother was still in his head. That female was so ugly her face could make Phelphor look like a supermodel.
