She was alive, but only just. She felt so lucky, but at the same time, she was st I feelings unlucky. She didn't have any family left, she was going to have to face the world on her own. She was resting up in her bed at the Hickfield Clinic until she was well enough to do so.

She heard a gentle knock at the door and she was wondering who it could be. Perhaps it's Mr Justice and Trucy again. She thought to herself, but she was quite surprised when Klavier entered.

"Ah! P-Prosecutor Gavin?"

"I'm aware I'm probably the last person you wish to see at this moment."

"N-N-No, that's not it, you can come in..."

"I just came to see how you're feeling." He stated as he entered.

"...Better, thanks..."

Klavier cleared his throat. "I'd like to apologise on behalf of... his actions."

"I never held anything against you. It's my fault for creating those forgeries-"

"Ms Misham, you shouldn't blame yourself for your father's death."

She sat up slightly. "But... the notebook page... when he came to see me seven years ago and gave me that charm, I... I thought he... that charm he gave me... it..." She looked as if she was about to cry, he wasn't sure what to do other than try his best to comfort her.

But what could he say? He couldn't possibly just tell her 'it's okay'. Not after her father had recently been poisoned.

"Are you gonna be okay?" 'Stupid question!' He cursed to himself.

"...Yes. I think. Are you going to be okay?"

"Me?"

"Yeah... he was your..."

"Ah... yes. I appreciate the concern but you don't need to worry about me. I just came to apologise for putting you through all of that."

"It's okay... you were just doing your job..." She began to choke up with tears. "...He acted like he cared about me..." She shivered under the sheets.

Klavier related to that feeling all too well. "That's how he manipulated people."

"I'm so stupid..."

"No, he manipulated all of us, don't beat yourself up about it." He softly placed his hand on her shoulder to comfort her. "It's not your fault."

"I think I'll hold a small memorial for my father... I'm trying to raise enough money for it though..."

"Here." Klavier reached into his pocket.

"Oh, no, I can't take that much money from you."

"Please, I insist. It's the least I can do. Have a nice send off for him." He smiled warmly.

"Thank you... thank you so much! I-I can't believe someone would do this for me..."

"I should get going now, but I hope you recover soon."

She nodded. "Thank you again, for cheering me up."

Just before he left, he turned back to look at her. "If there's anything else you need, you just need to ask." He smiled again, his smile was different than his brother's, this smile was sincere, warm, kind. Not the fake innocent, manipulative smile that's Kristoph had.

She nodded and smiled as he left, feeling much better about herself.

Vera came to realise that they may look similar, but Klavier Gavin was nothing like his older brother.

I've wanted to write something like this for so long, hope you guys enjoyed! :)
