Fatal 4-Way (With the Mind)
By Ahmad Abu-Jamous
If there was anything Mick Foley wanted for Christmas, it was to get rid of his multiple personality disorder. This made him have three different personalities; Mankind, a deranged, but smart, lunatic who talks to a sock named , Cactus Jack, a redneck who had an IQ of 32, and Dude Love, a hippie who claims he helped start Woodstock. The different personalities started showing up during 1996. At first, Foley was able to keep his personalities back, but as he got older, the personalities were starting to take over his mind. He decided to see s scientist who could possibly help with the problem.
The scientist said that he could bring all of Foley's personalities to life and allow Foley to fight his personalities himself. Foley liked the idea and allowed the scientist to perform the experiment. Thirty minutes later, he was standing face-to-face with Mankind, Cactus Jack, and Dude Love, his alter egos. Mankind said that they were going to take over Foley's body so that they could become real people. Foley then challenged Mankind and his other alter egos to an Extreme Rules, elimination Fatal-4-Way for control over his mind and body. Mankind and the others accepted the challenge, under the condition that if Mankind or any of his pals won the match, that ego will become the new Mick Foley until Foley dies. But, if Foley won, Mankind and the other personalities will have to leave Foley alone. Everyone agreed to the stipulations and they prepared for a fight.
The rules of a Fatal-4 Way are simple; whoever scores the first pinfall or submission wins the match. But, with the extreme rules and elimination stipulation, there will be no disqualifications and the last person in the ring will be the winner.
The match was at TLC (Tables, Ladders, and Chairs) in Brooklyn, New York. After Mick Foley, Mankind, Cactus Jack, and Dude Love made their entrances, the bell rang and the match began. Foley threw Cactus Jack out of the ring, punched Dude Love to the ground, and tossed Mankind into the ring post. Before Foley could capitalize, Cactus Jack got back into the ring and hit Foley on the back of the head with a kendo stick. Mankind and Dude Love then stomped on Foley and literally kicked him out of the ring. Foley tried to get up, but Cactus Jack clotheslined Foley over the announcer's table. Dude Love tried to pin Foley, but Foley kicked out at a count of two. Cactus Jack tried to dive on Foley with a crossbody, but Jack missed and ended up being pinned for the three count after a small package pinning maneuver by Foley.
Dude Love kneed Mick in the gut and tried to perform the Love Handle on Foley, but Mick executed a double arm DDT on Dude Love and pinned him for the three count. All that was left was to defeat Mankind. Mankind grabbed a sledgehammer and hit Foley with it numerous times in the chest and head. Mankind then performed a facebuster onto a trash can and tried to pin him, but Foley kicked out at a count of two and a half.
Mankind then grabbed the trash can lid and beat Foley with it until the ringside doctor stopped the match to check on Foley. Foley got back up, put on brass knuckles, and punched Mankind in the face.
Foley then punched Mankind in the face again, took off the brass knuckles, grabbed his sock puppet, , and choked Mankind into unconsciousness to win the Fatal-4-Way, and his right to never have to worry about any of his alter egos again.
